As a television host, Alex Mitchell is as comfortable on the red carpet
interviewing celebrities as he is on a NASCAR track, under the hood of
a classic car or reporting from exclusive beaches and hot spots around
the world. The New York native has interviewed such well known
entertainers as Jamie Foxx, Mario Lopez, Dave Navarro, Tori Spelling,
Damon Wayans, Rachel Hunter, Jason Priestly, Robin Leach, Lennox Lewis
and many others. Alex's television credits include The Red Carpet, VIP
Access: Behind Closed Doors and The Best of VIP Access for Showtime as
well as Destination Paradise for the Travel Channel, a fashion segment
on F.Y.E! (E! Entertainment Television) and a celebrity fitness piece
for the KTLA Morning News. Additionally, he has hosted segments for the
online show My Race Life (NASCAR).
Considered an expert in the field of classic cars and motorcycles, Alex has restored more than a hundred vehicles over the past ten years - including Camaros, Chevelles, Mustangs, Broncos, Road Runners, GTOs and dozens of others. Upon relocating from New York to Los Angeles, the TV host restored his own 1969 Camaro to mint condition. This hobby suddenly turned into a business when Alex's co-stars discovered his talent for taking a car from junk yard to show room without breaking the bank. The ability to look at something and be able to fix it is a skill set for which he credits his father.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alex ultimately grew up in Garden City, Long Island after his family moved there when he was quite young. As a child, he began platform diving which led to other sports such as soccer, baseball and track. He went on to become a sponsored snowboarder. Boss Models signed Alex to a contract just out of college. This new opportunity allowed him to travel the world. He subsequently parlayed modeling into event promotion - opening clubs, restaurants and hot spots around the US.
Alex resides in Los Angeles; however, he maintains residences in New York and Miami. He recently launched a show on Universal Broadcasting Network featuring in depth interviews with well known actors, actresses and industry professionals.
