When people talk about "Star Wars," they often bring up creator George Lucas or one of its stars, but perhaps the greatest unsung hero of the franchise is Frank Oz. Oz is a puppeteer best known for his work on "Sesame Street" and "The Muppets," but in "Star Wars," he puppeteered and provided the voice of the sage Jedi, Yoda. Making Yoda come to life meant hiding beneath the sets so he could move the puppets' limbs, his work hidden offscreen while his performance appeared through Yoda's face and body. It's pretty thankless work that wasn't even considered acting when Lucas campaigned to get Oz nominated for an Oscar, and that didn't even account for some of the physical misery Oz had to endure in order to do his job -- specifically, dealing with snakes.

Star Wars may be set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, but its fantastical elements can be recreated in our world, and a new web series is doing exactly that. Disney and Lucasfilm have launched the first episode of Science of Star Wars, which engineers real-life versions of iconic Star Wars items.
The first episode of Science of Star Wars deals with the gadget that is arguably Star Wars' most legendary creation: the lightsaber. Host Anthony Carboni, who we used to see around Revision3 back in the day, leads viewers through a science lesson that ultimately likens the destructive power of the Jedi weapon to that of a modern-day plasma cutter. With some help from his guests, including actor Taylor Gray of the Star Wars Rebels TV series, YouTube Alan Pan of Sufficiently Advanced, and the computer Watson (who represents series sponsor Ibm), Carboni conducts...

The Star Wars Show has returned from Orlando’s Celebration event bearing gifts – namely, a pair of interviews with Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn) in anticipation of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
First up, the Jedi. Reflecting on the film’s show-stopping teaser trailer, co-hosts Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni asked Daisy Ridley about Rey’s ongoing training process – a rigorous regime conducted by Luke Skywalker himself. Mark Hamill’s all-powerful Force user is clearly a more haggard, world-weary Jedi than the Luke of old – “it’s time for the Jedi to end.” – leading to heated speculation regarding Luke’s ultimate fate in Rian Johnson’s sequel. Will The Last Jedi really spell the end of Mark Hamill’s involvement in the Star Wars universe? It’s too soon to tell.
If there’s one thing that’s immediately clear, though, it’s that Rey is still very...

Revision3's Rev3Games has quickly become one of the most likeable and entertaining gaming news teams on the Internet. The channel's three hosts--Tara Long, Max Scoville, and Anthony Carboni--recently made news by hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon for charity. Today, that terrific trio became a fearsome foursome. Revision3 has announced that veteran gaming host Adam Sessler will join the network as an executive producer, where he will step in as a regular contributor to Rev3Games. Sessler made a name for himself as a host of the humorous video game reviews show X-Play. Sessler was a host for over 14 years on X-Play, and he followed the show from TechTV to G4, where he and co-host Morgan Webb were a popular pair. Sessler left G4 in 2012, and by moving to Rev3Games he will be reunited with several of his former TechTV colleagues, including HD Nation and Tekzilla...

Revision3's Rev3Games team is enduring 24 consecutive hours of strenuous game playing in order to raise money for Extra Life, a charity that supports children's hospitals by sponsoring day-long gaming marathons. Rev3Games' marathon team consists of Anthony Carboni, host of the New Challenger reviews show, alongside Tara Long and Max Scoville, the co-hosts of the Destructoid show. The trio began their epic gaming session today at 11 Est, and it will last through the night, ending tomorrow morning at the same time. They will mix up the games they play, but as far as I can tell they're mostly playing a Lot of X-com. The entire marathon is being live streamed on Revision3, so stop by during the course of the day/night to see how they're doing. My guess is that the trio will later move on to play a healthy amount of Borderlands 2, since both that game...
