Ben Petrie is a Canadian independent filmmaker. He wrote, directed, and performed in Her Friend Adam, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and proceeded to screen at SXSW and TIFF Top 10. The film was named the Best Comedy of 2016 by Vimeo, the Best Drama of 2016 by NoBudge, and "one of the best pieces of pop culture of 2016" by The A.V. Club.
In 2019, Ben performed in and produced Tito (dir. Grace Glowicki), a feature-length dramatic comedy. The film premiered at SXSW, where it won the Adam Yauch Hornblower Award. The film was called "one of the boldest artistic statements of the year" by Filmmaker Magazine, and "an instant classic of acting" by The New Yorker.
Ben has been featured in Filmmaker Magazine's annual series, 25 New Faces of Independent Film.
