Doug Bremner is a professor, physician,
researcher, writer, and director, from Atlanta, Georgia, and President
and CEO of Laughing Cow Productions, which he co-founded with his wife
Viola Vaccarino in 2012. He grew up in
Olympia, Washington, and attended college at the University of Puget
Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and medical school at Duke University
School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina. He has written several
non-fiction books, including "Does Stress Damage the Brain?" (WW
Norton, 2002), "Before You Take That Pill: Why the Drug Industry May Be
Bad For Your Health" (Penguin, 2008), and "The Goose That Laid the
Golden Egg" (Right Publishing, 2011), which is also a screenplay. He
has written several screenplays and was a finalist in the Charleston
International Film Festival Screenwriting Competition in 2011 and a
quarter-finalist in the PAGE Awards Screenwriting Competition in 2011
for comedy. In 2012 he directed and produced one of his screenplays,
Inheritance, Italian Style (2014), which was filmed in
Atlanta, Georgia, in 2012. He also played a minor role as the Delivery
Man in the film.
