Venezuelan-Italian composer Alvaro Paiva-Bimbo draws on decades of classical training and a lifetime of playing Latin American music, to write music that breathes alongside the narrative, intertwining the vibrant exuberance of world music rhythms with precise orchestral textures. He has collaborated with renowned composers such as Germaine Franco, Bryce Dessner, Dara Taylor, Joseph Shirley, and others, contributing original music and orchestrations to over 50 films and tv series, including Oscar-nominated titles like Encanto, Bardo, and Nyad.
As a Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, orchestrator, arranger, conductor, musical director, or guitarist, Paiva-Bimbo has worked with hundreds of artists, including: songwriters Diane Warren, Linda Perry, Lin-Manuel Miranda; classical music celebrities Gustavo Dudamel, Alondra de la Parra, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra; latin headliners Becky G, Bronco, Luis Enrique; indie-pop superstars Natalia Lafourcade, Carla Morrison, Ximena Sariñana; jazz figures Luisito Quintero, Anat Cohen, Ralph Irizarry (+); and rockstars Los Amigos Invisibles, Alejandra Guzmán, La Vida Bohème.
Alvaro studied Composition, Classical Guitar, Jazz, and Conducting at Manhattan School of Music, Universidad Central de Venezuela, and the Pedro Nolasco Colón Conservatory. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. He attributes all success to God and his teachers, starting with his mother and grandmother.
