Darnell Brown is a TV/Film writer/producer and native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he grew up among the rich culture of one of America's biggest cities. He has worked as a mental health professional and traveled the world as a legal videographer, exploring places a Black man from Philly thought he'd never see. Places like: Canada, London, Helsinki, Madrid, Versailles, Paris, Amsterdam...Jersey. LOL! In 2018, his pilot "The Good Book" was one of three finalists (the only Drama) in the ColorCreative competition sponsored by BET Networks and Issa Rae (HBO's "Insecure"). In 2019, he was chosen as an HBOAccess Writing Fellow and was also selected as the 2019 Drama Writing Winner at Turner/WarnerMedia's American Black Film Festival for his dramedy pilot, LYZ and a 2020 inductee of "The Bitch List" (the top pilot). He was then hired as a WGA Writers' Trainee for the BET series, American Soul and most recently worked as a Story Editor on an un-announced HBO limited series.
