Born and brought up in Hobart, Tasmania.
Studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney from 2006 - 2008, gaining a Bachelor of Dramatic Art.
Older brother of Stunt performer Nathan Kannegiesser.
Married in 2012 to wife Halley Durrant.
Currently lives and works in Sydney Australia.
