David also specializes in paranormal content, starting with paranormal themes in his student film projects. The concept for Meeting Diablous (2014) a one-minute movie, was inspired by Slavic folklore 'Katcha and the Devil' and "The Blacksmith and the Devil." His five minute movie revolved around a young man breaking up with a psychic stalker. David then crewed on Mermaid Down (2019), and Shadow and Souls (2021). During his first year producing The Valley Film Festival, David programmed and produced screenings for several paranormal shorts including Every Ghost Has an Orchestra (2017), Miriam's Balloons (2017), Creswick (2017), and Ouija Sex (2017). While managing 'Cinelounge,' David oversaw the Los Angeles Theatrical run of The Devil's Doorway (2018) and handled the backend of Cinelounge's 2018 Satanic Panic series featuring 'The Devil Rides Out (1968), 'Evil Speak' (1981), 'Mazes and Monsters (1982), 'Trick or Treat' (1986), and 'The House of the Devil' (2009). David also managed Cinelounge's 2018 4K Release Screening of the Original Suspiria (1977) with special guest Barbara Magnolfi. Most recently during VFF24, David selected feature Purgatory Jack (2023), The Ghost Trap (2024) and Tomorrow, You Pretty Ghost for programming.
David also made a guest appearance on episode of CharVision (2015) to discuss his yoga practice with television psychic Char Margaolis.
A firm believer that "music helps the eye see clearer," David has a special appreciation for movie soundtracks, particularly Ludovico Einaudi Doctor Zhivago (2002), William Olvis theme from 'Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993)' (1993), and James Horner Titanic (1997). He also enjoys classical instrumental covers of popular songs in movies and television. One recent example that caught his attention is Netflix's Bridgerton (2020) with its violin and cello cover of 'Material Girl' by Kris Bowers. His favorite band is the fictitious 'Natalie is Freezing,' created by Lisa Loeb for the TV show Community (2009), and their single 'Pillar of Garbage.'
Steven Spielberg remains David's favorite movie director and he appreciates Spielberg's sentimental movie style. Tom Cruise is still his favorite actor of all time, followed by Harrison Ford.
