Born in Panama City, Panama, Leo received acting training and did theater all through high school. Having attended schools in both Panama and the Canal Zone, he speaks fluent English and Spanish with no accent. Leo attended Tulane University where he received a master's degree in architecture. He returned to acting in 1987. That year he landed the lead role of Vito in "Panama Jackpot", a pilot for TV in Spanish. He also took to the stage as Sr. Maggi in Extraño Juguete for which he won an award. Since then his English language roles include Arnold Epstein in Biloxi Blues, René Gallimard in M. Butterfly, Garfinkle in Other People's Money, Shelley Levine in Glengarry Glen Ross and Mark Rothko in Red. His Spanish language roles include Los Japoneses No Esperan, 4 Mujeres Vestidas de Negro and Dios, Mio. His range includes drama and comedy and he has also done TV commercials. His TV work includes 9 de Enero, Condenados, Escándalos and Prueba de Fe.
2014 marked the beginning of a constant film career in English and Spanish: feature films Historias del Canal, Hands of Stone, El Cheque, Sin Voz, Tranque, Humanpersons, Locos al Poder, Diablo Rojo, and Causa Justa, as well as the short films Padre, Aves de Papel, Instante, La Sombra en la Oscuridad, Sundae and Shadows. The latter is his first script brought to the screen.
In 2019 he founded his production company Wiznitzer Films with which He has been producer of Diablo Rojo, Shadows, Panquiaco, Algo Azul and Plaza Catedral.
Leo lives in Panama City, Panama and Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, with his wife, two children and two grandchildren.
