Casey Nicholas Price is an American filmmaker born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. His parents, Mary and Ronald Price, reside in Alabama.
Casey wanted to be a filmmaker ever since he could remember. He grew up with comic books, cartoons, T.V. and movies. Inspired by popular directors, actors and stories; Casey landed his first opportunity to be on a film set for the studio feature film, Cherry Falls (2000), as background. Some years later he moved to San Diego, CA where he worked part-time, got on set when he could, studied acting and obtained his degree in film production at San Diego State University (SDSU).
He was a pioneer for SDSU's first film society mentoring new and aspiring film students as Vice President for the society's first year. Casey also taught youths, 7-12 years old, the basics of filmmaking and stop-motion filmmaking for private performing arts studios.
Casey has written, directed, produced and 1st assistant directed a wide variety of projects that have played in film festivals and theaters around the world. A short horror film, The Apparition (2014), in which he co-created, produced, 1st assistant directed and acted in was selected by Cannes as a part of their Short Film Corner in 2014.
Casey Nicholas Price continues to sharpen his skills and master his craft by freelancing film work between Los Angeles, San Diego and wherever a production can use his skill sets. He'll be looking to direct his first feature film in the near future and continue to excel as a 1st AD in the meantime.
He's also an advocate for the use of film over digital and maintains his core values of hard work, communication and positive reinforcement.
Casey travels out to Park City, Utah yearly where he volunteers for the Sundance Film Festival full-time.
