Although born in the southern U.S. where her family is from, she spent half of her childhood in Australia and is a dual-citizen.

She is the grand-niece of American Guitarist and Rockabilly legend Luther Perkins, who was a band- mate and songwriter alongside Johnny Cash in the Tennessee Three.

She is of mixed ethnic heritage. She is 3/4 European descent (predominantly English, Scottish, Irish and Western Europe) and 1/4 Mexican descent (from her Maternal Grandmother).

Actress Abby Lindsay is her Aunt, with whom she is very close.
