Were back with The Voice for season 8 after an incredible win by Team Blake's Craig Wayne Boyd last season. Right off the bat, Blake can't help but remind us that Craig's first single debuted at number one on the charts. That means his very first song to hit the airwaves went straight to the top, people. That is a first. I have to admit that I was a Voice virgin when we began the Blind Auditions last season and I have become a die-hard fangirl of the franchise.
My iTunes library is full of my favorites from last season, including Chris Jamison and Adam Levine's duet "Lost Without You", Matt McAndrew's "Blower's Daughter" and Craig Wayne Boyd' "My Baby's Got a Smile On Her Face" as well as just about everything else by Craig, Matt and Reagan James. Not only are the artist we meet on The Voice unique and inspiring,...

Let me begin this recap with a bold prediction: Season 7 of The Voice, despite being the weakest in the history of NBC’s singing competition, will be the first to launch a chart-topping, stadium-filling superstar.
I will stop short, however, of predicting which contestant gets the job done for the only reality franchise where the slightest hint of negativity is greeted by producers in Hazmat suits, sealed in plastic biohazard bins and shipped to landfills in deepest New Jersey. (I live in the Garden State, so that joke is officially not offensive.)
I mean, let’s face it: At noon today,...

That was one wild night.
The Voice threw precedent out the window Tuesday night when it brought back eliminated artists from the Top 12 to perform one last time to earn the newly created fourth wild card spot in next week's finale.
The switch-up meant that (for once) Carson Daly wasted no time in revealing the three finalists advancing to next week: Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake Shelton and Matt McAndrew and Chris Jamison – who was the recipient of the Twitter instant save the previous week – of Team Adam Levine.
The reveal meant that only the show's two veteran coaches...

Tonight's elimination show, kicked off with ,host Carson Daly, getting right down to business by revealing that Chris Jamison from Team Adam was safe this week. Craig Wayne Boyd from Team Blake was safe, and Matt McAndrew from Team Adam was safe. So, that left Damien and Taylor John Williams as the odd men out to battle for a 4th wild card spot against the rest of the top 12 contestants of this season. That's right. Nine of the eliminated constants get one more shot at the title by competing for a 4th, wild card spot. It'll be chosen by viewing audience votes. Then the results will be revealed on the Today Show tomorrow morning, October 10th. After that wild announcement, the performances began. Reagan James sang "Put Your Records On." Jessie Pitts sang "Zombie." Ryan Sill sang "Marry Me." Anita Antoinette sang "Waiting on the World to Change." Taylor John Williams sang "Wicked Games.

You can’t accuse NBC of underestimating the power of cross-promotional synergy.
With The Voice rocking the 18-49 demo and its venerable Today struggling to get out of No. 2 in the morning-show ratings, the Peacock net made a bold move with its reality-singing juggernaut’s semifinal results telecast: Nope, you won’t know identity of the fourth and final Season 7 finalist unless you wake up with Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and that collection of other folks who use international news as the aoli in a pop-culture and cooking-segments sandwich.
I’m not kidding. Host Carson Daly taunted the Voice audience...

We are heading into the final stretch of season 7 of The Voice, folks. Do not -- I repeat, do not -- call it at this point. Don't think you know what the final results will be. Believe me, I speak from experience after getting burned with the results of this summer's America's Got Talent results when Matt Franco walked away with the whole kit and caboodle. Granted, he deserved the hell out of that win, but I was gunning just as hard or harder for his competitor, Emily West (whom I secretly wish would come over here to The Voice and give this bunch a run for their money). Between the two talent shows, I can't say which I've enjoyed more. As my dad would say, the one that's in front of you is the one you have to focus on. So today and this entire fall it's definitely been The Voice.

Not even Taylor Swift could take away from the real drama on The Voice Tuesday.
The megastar – and Voice Season 7 special advisor – delivered a fierce performance of her latest hit, "Blank Space," during the live elimination show, but even she couldn't overshadow the big question of the evening: Which two artists were going home?
Viewers got their answer at the end of the show, but not before the bottom three artists in the Top 10 performed one final do-or-die song to win this week's Twitter instant save and the final spot in the Top 8 heading into next week.

Viewers of "The Voice" came up with some shocking results on Tuesday's show: both Reagan James and Anita Antoinette were eliminated. According to your predictions, James was in third place to actually win this season, while Antoinette was certainly not projected to go home yet. Ryan Sill once again was in the bottom three for the week, but social media saved him at the last possible moment. You had predicted both Sill and Chris Jamison would be eliminated. Where are the Spice Girls when you need ‘em?
No, that’s not me throwing shade at Taylor Swift’s performance of “Blank Space” on tonight’s Top 10 results telecast of The Voice. It’s just that Season 7 of NBC’s reality-singing juggernaut could use a quintuple dose of girl power, rather than just the single shot brought by The Pop MegaSeller Formerly Known as Country.
I mean, how many talented chicas have fallen by the wayside — Toia Jones, Maiya Sykes, Amanda Lee Peers, Brittany Butler, Alessandra Castronovo and Jean Kelley, just to name a few — in the past three months,...

It was dream-scenario Monday night for Team Pharrell star DaNica Shirey on The Voice.
She sang a few bars of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" to the late icon's longtime mentor, Clive Davis, who met with the Top 10 singers and gave Shirey high praise – after she sweetly confided that she'd written an 11th grade biography about Davis's life. And she'd learned to sing Whitney on a karaoke machine her late father bought her when she was 8.
Awww.
"Every single word that she sang was huge to me," Shirey told Davis, who knowingly embraced her humble and heartfelt homage.
