Kristen Laffey (she/they) is a Los Angeles-based director, producer, 1st AD, and actor dedicated to platforming bold, queer voices. An NYU Tisch graduate, they have spent over a decade championing independent filmmakers between New York and LA.
Kristen's career has spanned nearly every role in production-starting as an actor before moving into line producing, casting, 1st AD, writing, and beyond. A true creative "Swiss Army knife," they thrive on guiding projects from concept to final cut, bringing versatility and heart to every step of the process.
Above the line, Kristen has served as COO for Gaptoof Entertainment, Out Of Many Media, and Angel Number Films. They also acted as Executive Producer and Community Manager at serif.space, a queer members club, where they produced doc-series content spotlighting emerging and veteran queer creatives while curating live events for community connection. They now produce and host HOWL, a queer full moon party in Los Angeles (@howl.party.la).
Most recently, Kristen co-produced Ponyboi, which premiered in dramatic competition at Sundance 2024, won the Grand Jury Prize at NewFest, and will see a theatrical release in 2025.
