Carlos Andre Smith II, originally from Lakeland, FL, Los2k6 began his film journey in 2006. He always had an interest in producing his own movies since he was a child. Since his first days of using cameras and editing programs, Smith always had the hunger to improve his skills each and every day, which still stands til this very day.
However, from 2006-2012, he started on small projects such as event videos, promo videos, music videos, and even dabbled into creating short films. It wasn't until the end of 2012 that Carlos decided to produce his first movie "Homeboys", which is an experimental coming of age drama about friends coming together when drama between them and their relationships arises. "Homeboys" premiered at SunRay Cinema in Jacksonville, FL in 2013. Although he wasn't as skilled as he is now, the community still supported the premiere, giving him his very first sold out theatrical premiere for his very first movie. The support inspired Los2k6 to produce the sequel titled "Homeboys: Meet the Crew", which added new characters while keeping the core characters in the story line. The sequel premiered the following year. While still having a great turnout, it fell just short of selling out.
Smith then suffered from personal situations that caused a hiatus in his career, not producing a movie in almost three years. However, before beginning his unexpected successful film saga "SoulHood", he got a huge boost in his film career, bringing him back to the forefront with his parody film "21st Friday", which is essentially a parody to the comedy urban classic, "Friday", which garnered over 1.3 million views on Youtube organically. He then followed up with another Jacksonville, FL project, "We Are Duval", beginning a collaboration with Caption Photography and multiple artists in the city.
2017 was the year that forever changed the filmmaker's life. He began his "SoulHood Saga" series with the first installment premiering that year. It would then be his first time premiering a movie at an AMC theater, selling out two auditoriums prior to the premiere date. The film was well received at the time, which prompt Smith to produce a sequel, then evidently turned into a whole film saga with six well received installments. Which each installment growing bigger in scale within the story, the characters and the support, Los2k6 received his first film festival awards, first News TV appearances, first Folio Weekly appearance, and even appearing on Amazon Prime/Tubi for the first time!
With the "SoulHood Saga" film series coming to a conclusion as of 2023, Los2k6 is gearing up for his next movie "The Future Soul" which will be his first "Sci-FI/Drama" series. He hopes to create a new and influential original story, with even ideas of making it a new trilogy. He is aiming to make higher goals this time around and planning production for 2024. His future goals are to continue his film journey, taking it one step at a time!
