- As a teen, Cory won consistently at weekend acting tournaments and learned the trade from coach Doug Withiam.
- Cory challenged his youth center and middle school's constitutions and became the first male cheerleader in his town. As a fourth grader, he was only allowed to cheer inside a Tiger mascot costume his mom sewed for him. But 100-degree summer Saturday afternoon weather did not bode well for Cory who was near heat exhaustion cheering inside the fur costume. So in fifth grade Cory challenged his youth center and became the first male cheerleader. Also, in sixth grade school officials legally amended old rules so males could tryout for the 7th-12th grade squads. Cory made it each year and was "Captain Kirk" to his squad-mates as they won cheer competitions frequently. He was featured in American Cheerleader magazine as Top Cheerleader and won numerous cheer scholarships and titles. Graduating in 2011 from Oklahoma State University, a cheer powerhouse, Cory brings his talents to Hollywood sound stages now.
- Dennis Scott, veteran stunt coordinator and actor, is a close, family friend. Also, Cory is cousin to LA photographer Tony Donaldson.
- Actor/DJ Mimi Chen proclaimed Cory as a talented up-and-coming actor with classic rock wits to boot, live on 100.3 FM The Sound LA Summer 2015.
- Cory is a 5-year stage actor for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios-Hollywood. He was cast in the highest ever rated 2013 Insidious maze and met the sequel's cast and crew when they visited the maze on the weekend the movie opened at #1. He nabbed a reprise role in the Insidious 3 maze for the 2015 season.
