Rod Marmol is a director, screenwriter and a best-selling author of stories that warm & warn the heart ("kumukurot sa puso at sa singit").
He's the director-writer of the movies "Cuddle Weather" (2018) which ranked on Netflix' Top 10 Charts (Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam) and "The Cheating Game" (2023) which was part of Netflix' Top 10 Charts (Philippines, UAE, Qatar) for more than half a month; the Cinefilipino movie "Mata Tapang" (2017), and TV5's romcom series "Stay-in Love" (2020) both streaming on CignalPlay; and the upcoming movie "Wander Lust" (2024).
He's the writer of the BL series "Quaranthings", the head writer of the drama series "I Got You", and co-writer of PPP film "Pinay Beauty", and three MMFF films "Magikland", "Mang Kepweng", "Super Parental Guardians", among others.
He has directed branded content for Oppo, Mang Inasal, GOMO, and wrote commercials for the biggest brands in the country. He's a workshopper of Ricky Lee, National Artist for Film. He also represented the country at a young advertising creative competition in Singapore in 2015.
In his spare time he writes poetry and hugots on his Facebook page with around half a million followers.
