As a child, Killmer was cast as Leona in Personal Foul as well as numerous commercials and modeling opportunities. As an adult, she had several bit parts, including Nurse in The Untouchables (1993-1994) series and Sarah Blake in Witchfinder (2013).
Kilmer paused her acting/modeling career to pursue her interest in journalism by obtaining a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa.
