Gonul Nagiyeva was born in Baku, Azerbaijan in 1982. Gonul started her carrier
as a TV presenter at Azad Azerbaijan TV - one of the biggest TV companies in Azerbaijan.
She graduated The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, worked in different fields, yet decided to dedicate her career to acting. She studied the Stanislavski system and Stella Adler method in Moscow, Russia. In 2016 she moved to Istanbul, Turkey and continued her education there.
Along with studying she gained victory at the popular TV show "Dancing with the stars" and "Fort Boyard". From there on she was invited to a leading role at a sitcom "Between us".
Her acting carrier was rapidly growing - she received a number of leading roles in a few TV series and movie projects. In 2014 she received a leading role at a Turkish drama movie named "Abandoned". In 2016 she played in Korhan Ugur's comedy movie "Kidnapper". In 2017 she played another leading role at a short film "Learning how to swim", depicting the plight of Syrian refugees fleeing to Greece across the Aegean sea, lauded around the world.
The movie gained Production Support Award at KisaKes Film Festival and also was nominated in Best Fiction category at 18th International Izmir Film festival.
She is multilingual - native language Azerbaijani, fluent in Russian and Turkish, English at advanced level and beginner's level of Farsi.
