- Kaj Larsen is an American filmmaker, producer, journalist, military advisor and stunt performer.
With a focus on conflict zones and national security, he has reported from war zones all over the world. His work has taken him to dozens of conflict spots including Liberia, Burma, Afghanistan, and Colombia. Larsen was a Correspondent for the Emmy award winning HBO show VICE. Prior to VICE he was a correspondent at CNN as a member of its Special Investigations and Documentary unit, and a journalist for the Vanguard unit at Current TV. He was the first journalist to be waterboarded on national TV, the only journalist embedded in the fight against Boko Haram, and the first Western video journalist in Mogadishu in more than a decade.
As a documentary series filmmaker Kaj has had roles from Executive producer, host, and writer on the series VICE on HBO, Lockup on MSNBC, and US Navy Pirate hunters on Spike TV.
In the scripted world Kaj has worked on a variety of productions inspired by his non-fiction work. He has consulted on movies and TV shows in a variety of roles from on camera talent to military advising and stunt work.
Prior to his work in television, Kaj spent five years on active duty serving as a US Navy SEAL. As a Lieutenant he led a team of special warfare personnel in covert operations overseas deploying as a detachment Commander in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
