Brown's talent for cinema was evident at the age of 17 when he wrote and directed his first short, Conviction. Conviction was screened at numerous festivals in Baltimore County and as a result of its success; Brown was awarded the prestigious Art Institute of Philadelphia Full Scholarship Award. While attending The Art Institute Brown received numerous awards, including the WYBE's "Through the Lens" Best Young Director Award and his project, Tale of Two Brothers, was broadcasted on Philadelphia, Maryland, and Washington DC's PBS stations.
Since graduating from the Art Institute, Brown held numerous positions including editing Standard Deviants at the PBS affiliated company, Cerebellum Corporation; editor/ compositor for EFX Media and Creative Director working on projects for Exxon Mobil, AOL Time Warner, and the Red Cross. He also, where he worked on projects for the OWN Network, BET, and IdeaWork Studios, Inc. where he worked with UFCGYM and Hard Rock San Diego.
In 2003, Brown developed his brand, BROWNMEDIUS. BROWNMEDIUS is an embodiment of creative, independence devoted to the art of abstract stories. The first project developed through BROWNMEDIUS brand was Truly Oreo, where Brown wrote and directed the film which chronicled the conflicted life of a troubled intellect. Truly Oreo was viewed in Baltimore, DC, New Jersey, Michigan and California's film festivals. Other notable BROWNMEDIUS film projects include Wine & Tunafish (short about a weekend in the life of three impoverished roommates with lofty life goals); Gangsta Mime (black and white silent short in the Keaton-Chaplin tradition set contemporarily to socially comment on and reflect urban life); and Mime Noir (documentary that looks at the history and social relevance of African- American miming).
In addition to the work through BROWNMEDIUS, Brown's work continues to expand. He worked on music videos, social commentaries, and served on numerous film festival panels. Brown's incredible eye behind the camera, adeptness in the editing room, and even to his uncanny natural talent in front of the camera makes him a multi-faceted artist blazing a trail in the film world.
