Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jimmie has had quite an interesting life. After graduating from West Jefferson High School in Harvey, Louisiana, Jimmie accepted an academic scholarship to the historically black college, Grambling State University. Shortly after 9/11, Jimmie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marines, he traveled to many countries, to include Japan, Ukraine, Ireland, Germany, etc. He is an OEF Veteran, and credits the military for his organizational skills. Military service is common in Jimmie's family. He has four uncles, three cousins, and one grandfather who have served. Jimmie's Uncle Leroy is a retired Sergeant Major (US Army). After spending 8 years in the military and attaining the rank of Sergeant, Jimmie decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a profession in Culinary Arts. However, while catering on movie sets, Producers were impressed by his logistical skills, and recommended he pursue a profession in film. As are most things in Jimmie's life, the path to success is a familiar one; he has several family members (cousins) that work in Filmmaking industry. Utilizing the Montgomery GI Bill, Jimmie received an Associate's degree in Narrative Film, a Bachelor's in Entertainment Business, and a Master's degree in Documentary/Non-Fiction Film. In his spare time, Jimmie loves to play Tournament Poker. He is ranked in the World Poker Database. Jimmie is also an avid boxing enthusiast. He was an amateur Boxer while in the Marines, and is a former USA Boxing Official & youth mentor. Jimmie has made several documentaries about the sport, attends most of the major fights, and is passionate about Boxing history. When Jimmie is not filmmaking, he's usually working out at Wildcard Boxing Club in Los Angeles or the Mayweather's Boxing Club in Las Vegas.
