Born in Wuhan, China, Qi Luo came to the United States to study film
after she got her Bachelor degree in Digital Media in 2011. After the
two-year program, Qi got her MFA degree in film from San Francisco Art
Institute in May, 2013. During her study in San Francisco, Qi devoted
herself into film projects both on campus and out of school,
collaborating with many great filmmakers.
In 2012, the film A Song of Despair which she produced got selected into San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and Film Arts Forum: Beyond Film School (held by San Francisco Film Society).
After the success of this short, she kept working in more film projects as a producer. Another short she produced named Halfway Connection was recently premiered at the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco.
Now Qi is working in San Francisco Film Society FilmHouse resident filmmaker Jennifer Phang's feature film -- Advantageous, which is adapted from an award-winning short.
Having collaborated with director King Liu for many times, Qi and King founded a film production studio named Double L Studio in 2012. Qi kept producing more high-quality films within her studio to chase her film dream.
