When the dawn of a new year approaches and you take stock of the shows yet to be renewed or canceled, you never want to jinx these shows by predicting their fate. As an outspoken Emily in Paris fan, I don't want to put it out into the universe that the show — gulp — ends with season 5 or gets abruptly canceled, but sometimes... you have to call it like you see it.
It's a reality that as shows age, they are more likely to either get the plug pulled or end naturally with a final season. For avid television watchers, that's the circle of life on the small screen, save for a small population of outliers. Other shows that aren't so lucky to reach veteran status could find themselves teetering on the edge of no return, while some are sadly sitting ducks no matter how beloved.

“Emily in Paris” star Lucas Bravo said he’s debating returning for the Netflix series’ upcoming fifth season after being “frustrated with the direction” his character, Gabriel, has taken.
“When you love something … you want the best version of it. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been frustrated with the direction by character is taking,” Bravo said in an interview with Indiewire while promoting his upcoming film, “Freedom.” “It makes me question if I want to be part of Season 5 […] because my contract ends at Season 4.”
While Bravo noted “the ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of [him] in Season 1,'” the turns his character has taken in the subsequent installments have created distance between the actor and Gabriel. “I’ve never been so far away from him.” Season 4, which debuted in two parts in August and September, saw Gabriel and Emily (Lily Collins) finally get together for a fleeting moment before breaking up,...

It might be au revoir to Emily in Paris for Lucas Bravo. The 36-year-old French actor is over the “lack of communication” keeping his character, Gabriel, and Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) apart. So much, in fact, that he’s ready for acting jobs outside the Netflix original series as Gabriel and Emily’s “archaic” storyline continues.
Gabriel and Emily’s ‘lack of communication’ is dated to Lucas Bravo
Bravo didn’t hold back in an interview with French publication Le Figaro. The Emily in Paris star, who has played Gabriel since the show began in 2020, shared his frustration about Emily and Gabriel’s romance in season 4, which hit Netflix in August 2024.
“Everything is based on a lack of communication,” he told the publication (via The Independent). Remember when Gabriel ditched skiing newbie Emily on the slopes? Or when he argued with her in French as she stood by unsure of what he said?...

French President Emmanuel Macron isn’t ready to bid au revoir to “Emily in Paris.”
While Emily (Lily Collins) has relocated to Rome in the Season 4 finale of the hit Netflix series, Macron is vowing to bring the production back to France.
“We will fight hard. And we will ask them to remain in Paris!” Macron told Variety. “‘Emily in Paris’ in Rome doesn‘t make sense.”
“Emily in Paris” is confirmed to be moving to Italy for its fifth season as Emily will lead the marketing campaign for new client-slash-suitor Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). And while it’s still unclear where the series could go next both narratively and in terms of jet-setting, it seems that Macron may have an advantage to bringing Emily once more to Paris: Macron’s wife Brigitte Macron guest-starred on the show.
“I was super proud, and she was very happy to do it,” Macron said of the cameo.

For the past few years, Netflix has helped lead the charge for traditional romantic comedies to make a rightful comeback. We have been in need of some real levity and heartwarming love stories, the kind that used to make bank at the box office. Now, we're getting some of the best rom-coms in the comfort of our own homes thanks to Netflix with titles like Nobody Wants This.
The romantic comedy series, which stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, centers on a sex and relationships podcast host who doesn't follow any form of organized religion falling head over heels for a traditional Jewish rabbi. As the title suggests, nobody seems to want them together, but their attraction and connection is bigger than the divisions between religion.
Without question, Nobody Wants This ranks as the best new comedy series of 2024. It's that good! After watching all 10 episodes of the incredibly lovable rom-coms series,...

After the release of season four part two on 12 September, Netflix decided to pick it up again for a fifth season. So although the series faced fan scrutiny, it is clear they have found the pulse of their target audience.

Netflix has announced that it is renewing Emily in Paris for a fifth season, following the return of Season 4 on September 12.
Season 4 – which was split into two parts, with Part 1 debuting on August 12 – sees Emily (Lily Collins) embark on a romance with a handsome Italian fashion exec and then move to Italy to open a Rome office for Agence Grateau.
The Season 5 announcement featured a teaser of Emily sitting on rooftop terrace in Rome as she sipped on an espresso, saying, “There’s no place like Rome”, with a wink.
The show’s creator Darren Star confirmed to Deadline last week that the Rome connection is set to continue in Season 5.
“She didn’t change her Instagram handle to Emily in Rome. She is working in Rome sometimes. Sylvie’s company has an office in Rome. Emily’s getting that on its feet,” he said in a Q&a about Season 4B.

Emily in Paris giveth and Emily in Paris taketh away when it comes to romance, but in season 4 part 1, the Netflix original romantic comedy series finally gave us what we have been waiting for. Of course, getting together during this particular moment in their lives wasn't without its challenges, making their relationship seem all the more like a fantasy. Splitting Emily in Paris season 4 into two parts seemed like a risky move when it was first announced, but now that we’ve finished the second part of the season I have to admit it was a move that really paid off.
The second part of Emily in Paris season 4 almost felt like its own season, with so much happening in these five final episodes of the season and the finale definitely did not disappoint at all. It had everything we could ask for and then some, including an ending that is sure to leave fans with plenty of questions about the show’s future.
With that, let’s dive right into the meat of things with a look at how the season came to a close and break down the season 4 ending! But first, let this serve as a spoiler warning as we prepare to get into the thick of things!

Ahead of the release of Emily in Paris Part 2 of Season 4 on Netflix Sept. 12, the cast and creators of the tentpole series gathered at The Space Cinema Moderno in Rome, Italy for a red carpet at Piazza della Repubblica and a premiere special screening.
Lily Collins, who stars as the titular character, dazzled in a golden dress with a shimmery stack of bangle bracelets on her right wrist. Ashley Park, who plays singer Mindy Chen, wore a sleek black dress with sparkly tassels and long black gloves to match. Lucas Bravo, who plays one of Emily’s love interests Gabriel, appeared as did costar Camille Razat, who plays that love triangle’s third person Camille. Razat did not attend the Part 1 premiere in August. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Paul Forman, William Abadie, Arnaud Binard, Kevin Dias and newcomer Eugenio Franceschini — who plays Marcello — walked the carpet as well.

Look out, Gabriel! You have some stiff competition headed your way in Emily in Paris season 4 part 2. On Aug. 26, Netflix unveiled the official trailer for the second half of the romantic comedy series' fourth season, and it's especially intriguing considering how part 1 ended. Are Emily and Gabriel already headed for a breakup? Well, if Rome has anything to say about it, then maybe!
The trailer for Emily in Paris season 4 part 2 introduces two new characters, including Emily's new American co-worker Genevieve at Agence Grateau and a ridiculously handsome Italian man who looks all but ready to sweep Emily off her feet in Rome. Emily and Gabriel have only been an official couple for a short period of time, but a rough patch looks like it's on the horizon.

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Part 2 of Emily in Paris Season 4, and of course, all roads lead to Rome at the end of the latest installment.
“Sometimes all you need is a new perspective,” the clip teases in between shots of Emily (Lily Collins) with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) in snowy France and Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) new hire Genevieve (Thalia Besson), another American employee joining Savoir.
Tension brews between Emily and Gabriel as Camille still hasn’t shared that she isn’t pregnant with her ex-fiancé. Meanwhile, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) might turn into more than just a business asset for Emily as he first comes to Paris “exploring some business opportunities.
Jvma hopes to acquire whoever Marcello works for, and Sylvie is keen to nab a meeting with him via Emily — which involves her going to Rome.
