Director, actor and musician. He studied Cinema and Television at Yeditepe University in Istanbul.
He conducted cultural and music organizations in many parts of Turkey. In 2006, he moved to Texas to spend part of his life in America. After his return to America, he decided to continue his film career. He shot various commercials. At the same time, he continued acting in theater and in front of the camera.
In 2012, he participated in the Sulukule Gönüllüleri Dernegi / Sulukule Volunteers Association project. He shot a documentary called ''Sahnede Isyan'' for the Sulukule Hop-Hop Tiyatrosu / Sulukule Hip-Hop Theatre, and also took part in the Istanbul Biennial.
In 2015, he completed his first feature-length documentary, "Surgun Türküleri - Yilmaz Güney" - "Ballad of Exiles - Yilmaz Güney". The documentary, which was shot in Istanbul and mainly in France, had its world premiere at the Rotterdam Film Festival. It has screened in countries such as Istanbul Film Festival, Madrid, Slovenia, England and Germany. Combining the prison issue again with the movie Damat Kogusu, Savaskurt was deemed worthy of many international awards with his ''Damat Kogusu'' / ''Grooms Block'' (2017) and participated in the festival process. As of now, he is carrying out the preparations for the fictional film that he will shoot in the continuation of the documentary.
In the October of 2020 he directed "Reflection - Akis", his second feature film. Premiered in New York Harlem International Film Festival and awarded for Best Foreign Film.
