Shannon is an Asian American film editor based in Los Angeles. She grew up living in cities such as Tokyo, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Honolulu, and attended Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Because of her travels, Shannon has a deep understanding of what it means to be an outsider and is committed to telling stories that amplify underrepresented voices.
Shannon's editing career spans narrative films, music videos, and commercials. Shannon's music video work has been included in Pitchfork's Top 20 Music Videos of 2019 (Doja Cat's 'Tia Tamera'), nominated for two awards at the 2020 MTV VMAs (Best Rock and Best Music Video from Home for Blink-182's 'Happy Days'), and nominated for two 2020 CMT Awards (Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for Kelsea Ballerini's 'homecoming queen?'). Shannon's narrative work 'De Kus' directed by Parker McMillan, won Best Foreign Language Short at the 2020 Burbank International Film Festival and was an official selection at the 2020 Manchester Film Festival. Additionally, Shannon edited the Lenovo x Jonas Brothers' Virtual Interactive Performance which received a 2021 Bronze Clio Music Award and a 2021 Silver Kinsale Shark Award. When Shannon isn't working, she spends her time learning Thai, her parents' native language.
