Voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch is going back to his roots. In a tweet from Crunchyroll, the voice actor confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Vash the Stampede in the soon-to-come English dub of "Trigun: Stampede." Said dub will be arriving on January 21, 2023, a mere two weeks after the premiere of "Stampede" this past January 7.
Yong Bosch is a prolific voice actor and Vash in the original "Trigun" anime was his very first voice-over role. He'd acted before, most famously as Adam Park (the second Black Ranger) in "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers." However, during an Adr session, a producer decided he had a "hero's voice" and asked him to audition for animated roles. A few weeks later, he was voicing Vash. The return of Yong Bosch in "Stampede" comes as a pleasant surprise. He'd previously expressed uncertainty about returning and Vash's original Japanese voice actor, Masaya Onosaka,...

The sappy and satisfying teen rom-dram “The Quintessential Quintupluets Movie” stands out among this year’s bumper crop of movies based on popular Japanese anime series. Much like other recent anime crossover hits, like “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” and “One Piece Film: Red,” “The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie” primarily addresses its franchise’s established audience.
You either already know who’s who and what’s already happened prior to this movie’s events, or you’re likely to get pretty lost.
That kind of insular appeal might seem like a handicap for uninitiated viewers, but several anime franchise spinoffs have already dominated the Japanese box office and enjoyed weeks-long, nationwide releases in American chain theaters and multiplexes. “The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie” also has all of the melodramatic revelations and puppy-love intrigue of the preceding anime series, based on Negi Haruba’s manga comics.

How in tarnation can a doofus commit crimes and destruction that warrant a 60 billion bounty on his head or snag the outlaw title of "The Humanoid Typhoon"? For those who have seen the 1998 "Trigun" space western anime by Madhouse, the question is the running gag. Though the grander and more dramatic question has been, "How much longer can said gunslinger doofus cling to his pacifist no-killing ideals"? In a dog-eats-dog Wild West on a planetary desert in the future, the 26-episode anime, adapting Yasuhiro Nightow's manga, held that question till the end.
Rebooting the anime that stars the much-loved Vash the Stampede in his red duster coat and straw-colored hair, the "Trigun Stampede" series has a whole lot to live up to. Luckily, Studio Orange is directing it with its signature splashy cell-shaded CGI (and Orange has rendered miraculous work with character designs in the anthropomorphic landscape of "Beastars"). In one of the most surprising turns of last year, at least from an international standpoint, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” became the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. A direct sequel to the popular anime show, the movie is now set to take the world by storm, having graced theatres on the international stage. No doubt the film’s preceding reputation has set expectations high, but does it live up to the hype?
Continuing directly where the anime series left off, demon slayer Tanjiro (Natsuki Hanae) boards the Mugen Train with fellow corps members Inosuke (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and Zenitsu (Hiro Shimono) to investigate demon activity. Once onboard, they join forces with the powerful Hashira warrior, Rengoku Kyojuro (Satoshi Hino), and soon become engaged with a fearsome demon that is feasting on the train’s passengers.
