Rich Drees
- Producer
- Director
- Actor
Although born in Massachusetts, Rich Drees has been a resident of Pennsylvania for nearly all his life. A movie lover since he first saw that Rebel Blockade Runner fleeing the massive Imperial Star Destroyer at the tender age of 8, he spent his formative years learning all he could about how the film was made, which led, perhaps inevitable, to an overall love of film and film history.
A freelance writer, blogger and film historian of three decades, Drees made the shift to filmmaker after he was approached by writer/director Natasha Bogutzki for help in mounting an indie film project. The two have since worked together on a number of short films, including The Injured Digit, Eight Years With Gilda and Powerplay. In addition to working primarily as the producing and occasional writing partner of the duo, Drees slid into the director's chair for the dark comedy This Way To The Egress.
