Chris Di Staulo
- Director
- Writer
- Producer
Chris Di Staulo is a Canadian film director based in Toronto. His first video camera weighed almost as much as he did. It was big, clunky, and it gave him his first thrill of creating from behind the camera. When he inevitably dropped it, the fury, astonishment, and string of curse words out of his Mother's mouth was a new, exhilarating experience which set him on a path to seek bigger and more extreme reactions from his audience.
Inspired, Chris applied to film school. He promptly received four rejection letters. With nowhere else to turn, he cut his teeth working in production. With some persuasion, persistence and circumstances which his lawyer advises against disclosing, Chris received a Bachelor of Arts (Specialized Honours) degree in Directing from York University.
Chris has spent over 16 years honing his craft, earning awards at prestigious festivals, including the Cannes International Film Festival Court Métrage, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Las Vegas Film Festival, and Canadian Film Fest. His films have been acquired and distributed globally - across Canada, the US, South Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa - on streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video, DirecTV, and other VOD platforms, as well as networks like CBC and ShortsTV. Collectively, his work has amassed millions of views worldwide, reflecting its widespread appeal and impact.
He is a member in good standing of the Writers Guild of Canada (WGC), Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA), Raindance, and the Association of Acting Coaches & Educators (AACE).
Chris is represented by Integral Artists for Film & Television, and Corner Content for Commercial.
