“Worst Cooks in America” co-host and “Tournament of Champions” vet Darnell Ferguson is set to host a new Food Network and Discovery+ cooking competition that hopes to mediate food-related tensions in the chef community.

Premiering Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. Et, “Superchef Grudge Match” will see Darnell stage two different battles between chefs who have beefs with each other to finally bury the hatchet and win 10,000 cash, a prized knife from the losing chef and lifelong bragging rights over their food foe.

Per the official description for “Superchef Grudge Match,” “In the series premiere, Darnell welcomes Chefs Antonia Lofaso and Jet Tila to settle their ‘Tournament of Champions’ rivalry – the two were tied in every category, until Jet won a rematch in the finale by one point. Since she has historically come out on top, Antonia is determined to restore order in the universe – while Jet is ready to defend his win.

Exclusive: Guy Fieri is cooking up another chapter of Tournament of Champions as Food Network renews the competition series for Season 3.

Set to return Sunday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt, Tournament of Champions III will feature two-hour long episodes and 32 talented chefs vying for the $100,000 grand prize, the largest reward in the tournament’s history.

The skills and abilities of the best chefs from the East and West coasts will be pushed to the limit, as host Guy Fieri spins the dreaded 5-wheeled randomizer that determines each cook-off: the protein, produce, equipment, cooking style, and time. A panel of judges, including Scott Conant, Cat Cora, Dominique Crenn and Giada De Laurentiis will evaluate the dishes blind. Exclusive: U.S production and management firm Cartel Entertainment has hired veteran agent and producer John Tomko as manager.

Tomko was previously at Rain Management Group and brings with him talent including Jane The Virgin co-executive producer Deirdre Shaw, and food historian and Iron Chef star Simon Majumdar.

Tomko packaged, sold, and produced feature The Perfect Date for Netflix, while he also sold Marlon Wayons film Sextuplets to the streamer.

Previously, he worked in feature film production and development, including a seven-year spell at Jerry Weintraub Productions between 1996 and 2003, where he was involved in Oceans 11.

Stan Spry, co-ceo of Cartel, said: “As Cartel Entertainment continues to expand its management and production business, John offers the company an opportunity to continue to grow our client list and production slate.”

In addition to hiring Tomko, Cartel has promoted kids and animation coordinator, Kate Brogden, to manager. She will specialize in writers and artists in animation.

If Food Network has proven anything over the last few years, it’s that it knows how to take advantage of holidays. To get your in the mood for Halloween, there’s a special Cutthroat Kitchen headed your way. The show is plenty of fun on its own, though some of the specials have gone a little silly with the things people end up having to do, but you can’t go too far when it’s Halloween.

It’s a five-episode tournament that kicks off on September 28th, and ends with a finale episode where the four winners battle it out.

Host Alton Brown won’t be holding anything back, and it isn’t just foods with appropriately “scary” names (blood oranges, Devil’s Food cake) that come into play here. The challenges are also Halloween-themed, like cooking while in outlandish costumes, and using creepy knives.

Subtlety isn’t on the menu on the Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs. Between the gigantic automated doors, the ominous lighting, and Alton Brown’s disappointment-tinged voice, it’s a miracle the contestants don’t drop their knives and run the heck out of the highly intimidating judging room.
