Originally from the Bay Area, Zoe Salnave has worked in film and creative writing since she was 15 years old. Her passion for filmmaking grew as a young documentarian discovering narratives rooted in issues of diversity, community, sustainable living, and urban rehabilitation. She has won numerous awards for her work with community gardening programs and bringing awareness to youth programs in Berkeley and Oakland, California. In 2010 she received a Resolution Award from the State of California by Senators Loni Hancock and Nancy Skinner for her work in film and has had her works screened at the White House in Washington, DC.
In 2015 she graduated from Mills College, a historic all-women's college in Oakland with a B.A. in Creative Storytelling and Cultural Perspectives with an emphasis in Poetry and Afro-Caribbean Studies.
She was accepted to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts in 2016 and has since been honing her craft in Directing and Producing narrative film. She works in episodic television production and feature filmmaking.
