Dale McRaven, an Emmy-nominated television writer and a creator behind shows like “Perfect Strangers” and “Mork & Mindy,” died Sept. 5 at his home in Porter Ranch, Calif. due to lung cancer complications. He was 83.

McRaven’s death was confirmed to Variety by his son, David McRaven.

McRaven received nominations from both the Writers Guild of America Awards and the Primetime Emmys for his work writing on ABC’s “Mork & Mindy,” which he served as a co-creator of alongside Joe Glauberg and the late film director Garry Marshall, who he worked closely with throughout his career.

McRaven later created the popular ABC sitcom “Perfect Strangers,” which ran for eight seasons, until he left the show over creative differences. McRaven retired completely from film and television a few years after the series’ conclusion in 1993, instead pouring his focus into wildlife and landscape photography.

Even if you’d based most of your horror movie in Central Park, you’d think you could come up with a better title for it. No horror-themed thoughts, ideas or images go through my head with the simple title Central Park but here I am reviewing the film anyway…

Poor title aside, Central Park does do some good things. I actually quite like the idea of a slasher movie where the killer just chases people around the famous park with police unable to capture them for years. Whether it’s a good or bad thing, Central Park isn’t that film.

There is a killer and his victims are a group of teenagers but the writers throw in a whole lot more to the story than that.

First time director Justin Reinsilber, helms the horror feature Central Park. The film will have its World Premiere at the Dances with Films festival, in Los Angeles. In this title, children of New York's elite are targeted by a vengeful killer. In Manhattan's most well-known park, there is nowhere to hide and no escape. Central Park stars: Justiin A. 360 Sound and Vision Productions is moving ahead with their sci-fi thriller Cybornetics. This is a film which envisions a world of cyborgs. As well, Ice Morales (Leiba) is a shady businessman who runs a corporation building these human hybrids. Cybornetics is currently in pre-production, with 2012 the expected release date.
