Roderick Dryden Morrison has been interested in the Film Industry since
he was twelve and he has taken several programs to endure his dream.
At the age of 15 he decided to go to to a summer camp called Gulf Island Film and Television School. At this camp they specialize in training people how to use film equipment and the basics of creating movies. Rod was trained how to make a movie from scratch and go through all the steps properly and efficiently.
G.I.F.T.S. opened up a brand new world to Rod Morrison and he knew from that point on that he was going to be in the film industry one way or another. Rod had a school assignment to gain fifteen hours volunteering at any job and he knew that he wanted to volunteer his time on or as close as possible to a set. He phoned every production company that was happening at that time but since he was only fifteen no one wanted to offer him a job due to insurance policies. Although he was discouraged he did not give up, he landed a opportunity with Sim Video in North Vancouver. He was very excited because he got to start networking and start figuring out the world within the film making industry. He has gone back since then and volunteered his time several times.
Rod went to Robert Bateman Secondary School in Abbotsford, BC, Canada. His grade 12 year offered him a Directing course which he took and made several shorts.
2007 to 2008 Rod endured in a Film Course at University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford. This made him learn how to shoot films while being a team player and leader and with minimal equipment, much like dogme's.
2008-2009 Rod attended Capilano University and took the Motion Picture Production Certificate Program. This MP3 program taught him how to make a film from all aspects of film making; for example, Producing, Directors Team, Writing, Lighting Team, etc. While attending this university he made several shorts and networked with a broad variety of people in the film industry.
Roderick has created his own production company "RDM Productions" (May, 2012) and has a bright future ahead of him.
