Earl Bolden, Jr. is an award-winning Producer and Director known for his acquisitions of unique stories and captivating visuals. As founder of Bolden Pictures and with over 15 years experience in the industry, Earl is constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new creative horizons.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Earl honed his craft at Hampton University where he studied Theatre Production Management, before earning his Master's Degree in Producing for Motion Pictures & Television. He produced his first short film, "God and Vodka," which toured the festival circuit for two years and won an impressive 41 awards from 26 official selections. His next project, the speculative television pilot "Very Smart Brothas" was featured in the New York Television Festival and competed against 60 independently produced pilots.
Earl's passion for directing developed on sets of numerous film and television productions. Before his entrepreneurial endeavors, he served as a first assistant director and production assistant on Emmy-winning and nominated series "Scandal" (ABC), "Seal Team" (CBS) and "Lucifer"(Netflix), and feature films including "Captain Marvel" and "Lucy in the Sky."
When he's not working on his latest project, Earl enjoys reading books on self-help and investing. He's also an advocate for teaching children financial literacy at an early age. Earl resides in his hometown of Los Angeles with his wife, Andrea Thornton Bolden, a talented screenwriter and visual artist.
