When a serial killer is caught one of the questions that is often asked is why didn’t the family realise? For many the answer probably is that they never thought that the person was capable of it, love is blind. In Found though this questions is examined through the eyes of a young boy.
When Marty (Gavin Brown) discovers a human head in his brother’s closet at first he is unsure of what to do. Being a horror fan he watches events unfold with interest, as if it is one of his movies, even checking out the different heads that appear from time to time. As his brother’s psychopathic tendencies escalate though Marty begins to realise...

Marty is the ideal fifth grader. He gets good grades, listens to his teachers, and doesn’t start trouble in class. But darkness is beginning to fall over Marty’s life. The kids at school won’t stop picking on him, his parents just don’t seem to understand him, and now Marty must grapple with a terrible secret that threatens to destroy life as he knows it – his big brother is a serial killer! Brotherly love is put to the ultimate test in this emotional coming-of-age story that descends into full-blown horror.
I have been dying to see Found for over a year now and I can honestly say it was worth the wait. I do wish I could have seen it first on the big screen instead of screening it on my computer, but I just couldn't wait any longer. First of all I'd...

Indie filmmaker Jason Horton (Monsters in the Woods) is hard at work on his next feature, Eat, and he just sent over a new teaser trailer and poster for the flick. Check 'em out!
Horton tells of the project, "The rest of production will be split between November in Los Angeles and January to allow an actor a drastic change in appearance. We already have some offers for distribution and are looking at a spring 2013 release."
In addition, actress Ashton Blanchard, who stars in Eat as Maxie McCarthy, is currently writing a blog in character for the movie. Lee Perkins, Annemarie Pazmino, Allen Perada, and Kitsie Duncan co-star.
Eat is written and directed by Horton (who has his own blog here) and produced by Robert Bravo. The film is described as a kick-ass 70's style zombie thriller, and it has a Kickstarter campaign that began today which the producers are...

We've all got our demons and fears, and the dark has always been a big one for many people... at least that's what I hear. Filmmaker Bryan Wolford taps right into that vein with his new film Myctophobia. Check out the teaser, and leave the lights on.
Myctophobia was shot over Feburary 25 and 26 and stars Kitsie Duncan, Steve Christopher, and Eric Shellito. It will be part of The Collective Volume 4, which brings together filmmakers to create ten 10-minute short films with a theme and will combine them. The project will premiere at this year's Days of the Dead in Indianapolis on July 7th.
"This collection's theme is emotions, and the emotion I was given was fear. I came up with Myctophobia after looking through a list of phobias and settled on this one due to the wording of 'the fear of darkness,'" Wolford said. "I thought the way it...

Plenty of films deal with serial killers, alien invasions and marauding monsters - all fun stuff and great fodder for horror. The upcoming short Words Like Knives takes a more psychological approach, working in topics like bullying and mental cruelty. These are things that many individuals deal with on a daily basis, and they make great subjects for a horror film.
Words Like Knives was written by and stars Kelsey Zukowski and directed by Travis Legge. It costars Jeff Scaduto, Valerie Meachum, Myke Wilson, Melissa Revels, and Aley Kreinz.
Shooting is scheduled for April, 2012 in Rockford, Illinois, and you can follow its progress on the Words Like Knives Facebook page and the Words Like Knives Twitter feed (@RumorsCanKill).

More legends of horror than you can shake a gore-stained machete at!
I had the supreme honor this weekend to have had a place secured on the Red Carpet for the opening of Texas Frightmare Weekend 2011. The opportunity to meet and greet some of the biggest names in cinema and horror was amazing as the photos below will show.
Each of them a legend, the stars came out to celebrate not only the genre they love so dearly, but the genre some of them helped to create.
A gentleman and a scholar, iconic German actor Dieter Laser was friendly and fun to hang out with despite what The Human Centipede made you think of him.
Joining Dieter Laser, the man behind the sickness that was The Human Centipede, rock star director Tom Six was an awesome addition to the Red Carpet.

Here's the thing ... when a gypsy approaches you with some kind of deal that would grant you something that you want badly it maybe a good idea to send her packing (in the nicest possible of ways of course lest you be cursed). These things just never work out for the better.

Joshua Hull is an Indiana based filmmaker who has a few cool projects called Beverly Lane and the upcoming Idiot Gore. With a name like Idiot Gore it just sounds like something fun to check out. Hull has a cool sense of humor that shones through with his films and is a good thing when working in the horror industry. Check out my latest Versus with director, writer, producer Joshua Hull.
Brian S- First off, how’d you get into filmmaking?
Joshua Hull- I wasn’t one of those kids who would shoot movies in the backyard. I come from a big family so I never had a camera to do that. I had the imagination & the goal to one day make movies but never had the resources. So I would just write scripts. Once in high school, my friends & I wanted to actually try & make movies but everything...

Kelsey Zukowski is a talented young screenwriter/actress based in the Chicago area. In the past year the DePaul University graduate has made a name for herself in the indie film scene, especially in horror. I predict big things from Miss Zukowski! Check out my latest Versus with Kelsey Zukowski to learn more about her, some current projects and advice she has for you, oh and this thing called bacon.
Brian S- First off, who are you and where did you come from?
Kz- Hello, I’m Kelsey. I’m from Eastlake, Oh, a suburb outside if Cleveland. I’m extremely passionate about the horror genre and am a huge film fanatic. I really love writing and acting in interesting films that question the dynamics in human nature and societal norms. I tend to be attracted to the darker side of this, it’s just very enthralling for me to examine.
