Alex Davidson’s 2023 horror movie Spirit of Fear is based on a strange concept where a man has to research clues to understand why he’s trapped inside a house. Although parts of it might remind us of the 1997 science-fiction horror Cube, Spirit of Fear falls short exponentially in comparison to the former. Shot on what seems like a shoestring budget, the movie stars Christopher Lee Page as the protagonist and the only character we see for the majority of the film. Although marketed as horror, the film is severely lacking in any such elements. Here’s a breakdown of the film for you to decide whether you should watch it or not.

Happy almost December, everyone! Now that the final month of 2018 is nearly upon us, we have one last batch of Digital and VOD releases for the year to look forward to, and there are a ton of great titles coming in the next few weeks that should keep horror fans more than entertained as the days continue to get shorter and the temperatures keep dipping lower and lower.
December’s digital releases kick off in a big way on December 4th, with eight different titles arriving on various platforms. A trio of holiday horrors debut that day—All the Creatures Were Stirring, Slay Belles, and Elves—as well as a pair of indie films from Artsploitation Films (Luciferina and Snowflake) and the sequel The House That Never Dies: Reawakening. December 7th is another busy day, as we have four more movies making their digital debuts, including Clara’s Ghost, Back Roads,...

There are many many horror movies that centre around a cabin in the woods and unsurprisingly, The Cabin is another that can be added to that list. It’s not a very inventive title but neither was The Cabin In The Woods and that turned out pretty great so I was willing to give this the chance.
Unfortunately The Cabin has a much lower budget to work with so the story isn’t as adventurous as its similarly titled counterpart. What we get is a young couple driving to a cabin in the middle of nowhere to get away from it all. The cabin is owned by the boyfriends family and he has fond memories of weeks away when he was growing up. Sound familiar? That’s because it probably is, you...
