If Tuesday’s two-hour premiere was any indication, CBS’ Zoo is going all in with Season 2.
Whereas Season 1 of the James Patterson adaptation took things a bit seriously as it explored the mystery of a manmade genetic mutation within the entire animal kingdom that turned our fine feathered and furry friends against us, Season 2 — or at least the effects-laden premiere, which for all I know blew the entire budget — is going full-tilt bananas (no pun intended, monkeys). We’ve got multi-animal assaults, a luxury jet that would make S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Zephyr jealous, new characters and...

During The Theory of Everything, I could have sworn I saw the plot of Two Night Stand chalked up on one of Eddie Redmayne’s blackboards. Then I squinted and laughed at my own stupidity; Professor Stephen Hawking may have worked with formulas, but he would have never come up with one so predictable and wholly unoriginal.
This may come as a surprise to you (prepare your gasps), but there aren’t a whole lot of romantic comedies that try breaking the mould when it comes to story, characters and (especially) heartfelt speeches.
And so it goes with Two Night Stand, a harmless enough story about a pair of strangers (Analeigh Tipton and Miles Teller on agreeable if fairly bland form) who...

Review Ron Hogan 26 Mar 2014 - 07:15
Has The Following really crossed a line in this week's episode?
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 Teacher's Pet
The Following may have well crossed a line to turn off its viewership this week. For 26 episodes, the show has done everything imaginable to alienate viewers. Lots of people getting killed in gruesome ways, serial killers offered up as characters we're supposed to root for, children in peril, “classic Poe,” Ryan Hardy's slow transformation from troubled cop to outright sociopath, Mike's father being murdered just to provoke a brief emotional reaction, and some foaming-at-the-mouth poisoning courtesy of Joe's former cult leader and spiritual guru. Entire families have been murdered in cold blood. Corpses have been used as dance partners and implied sex dolls. Any number of horrible, depraved thing shave occurred, yet there's one line the show hasn't crossed: they haven't killed any animals.
That changed this week.

Fox is postponing production on drama pilot Wild Blue, which has been moved off-cycle. Written by Taylor Elmore and to be directed by Michael Dinner, the Sony Pictures TV-produced project is an upstairs/downstairs look at the working men and women aboard an aircraft carrier. Given the setting, Fox and Sony TV had been looking to film the pilot on a Navy carrier. Speculation about the pilot being pushed first surfaced more than two weeks ago when it became clear that the carrier the producers were eying for the shoot would not be available until after pilot season. But around the same time, Tim McGraw, a top choice for the lead role, engaged, entering talks. The prospect of landing him made Fox and Sony TV put a pin in their plans to push production and instead explore alternative location options, including building some of the needed interiors onstage. But McGraw eventually walked away,...
