Juan Francisco Gonzalez was born on May 18, 1973 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was raised in Miami. It was at the early age of 11 that he had a vision of his future in film making. Like Neo from the Matrix, who doesn't believe in fate, he believes it's all about having vision. And in 1984, that vision came after watching The Terminator on the silver screen and was able to see into his future. He knew at that moment, feeling the power of the theme of the mechanical heartbeat playing over the opening title sequence, that this is what he wanted to do. And at age 12, he began his writing career as a Ghost Writer, by participating in the Sixth Annual Miami News Halloween Scary Story Contest on October 30, 1985. After graduating from high school, he attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to learn Computer Animation, but soon dropped out after making a presentation to the class. He realized his new passion would belong in sales. It wasn't until the year 2000, after watching The Matrix and Gladiator, that he decided to return to the entertainment industry and pursue his passion for screenwriting. In 2012, he produced his first low-budget feature film, a supernatural thriller, THE AWAKENED. He has one daughter, Saphie Gonzalez, now an aspiring actress.
