Lindsay Castillo's greatest influence on her journey to success was her father, as her greatest motivator in Lindsay's transition into philanthropy. As a child and young adult, she witnessed her father's struggle as an entrepreneur without support. Seeing this motivated Lindsay in her own pursuit of business ownership and charity work. In addition, her father always made time for his family even during his busiest moments. This taught Lindsay that, with love, all things are possible.
During Lindsay's middle school years, she maintained the status of president of the Black Student Union and participated in the Filipino club. In addition, as an adult, she was a present member of Black Lives Matter (BLM) marches, Women's Marches, and protests against tuition increases. As an advocate for women, Lindsay has also been an influential contributor for improving the presence of women and girls in STEM curriculum.
From the young age of fifteen and living in Oakland, California, she always had a passion for acting and creating. This line of work led her to having compassion for other people's hardships. As such, Lindsay earned a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Electronic Arts and majored in Women and Gendered Studies. Within her first three months of moving to Los Angeles for a career in acting, Lindsay acted in a commercial that was broadcast-ed nationwide and was chosen for the lead role!
As an actress, Lindsay strongly recognized the need for advocates in the realm of sex trafficking. The sex trafficking industry is, unfortunately, rapidly growing and women need leaders to stand up to end the mistreatment of women around the world. At the time, she decided to use her talent to create movies with the vision of informing audiences while also providing an entertaining element.
When she is away from acting, Lindsay enjoys visiting the ocean and wading in the shallow water while exploring the surrounding sand. She truly finds the water and the beach to be serene and peaceful, and it reminds her that God creates during quiet times. Through God, Lindsay has learned that it is important to care for herself before others, so may go forth with love, compassion, and a full cup.
As such, she is passionate about practicing self-care. As a woman of color, creating Maharlika and presenting herself as a protector and defender of other women has been a defining moment in her life. Lindsay has recognized her life's purpose as helping women in achieving safety and assisting them in their pursuit to become the best versions of themselves.
