Robert Carmona-Borjas is a passionate filmmaker and dedicated father whose unexpected journey into the heart of Hollywood began in 2009. Leaving behind his life in Washington D.C., Robert relocated to Santa Monica in Los Angeles to support the aspirations of his daughters-one aiming to be a singer and the other an actress. Despite being a single father unfamiliar with the entertainment industry, Robert quickly immersed himself in the world of acting and film production, driven by his desire to see his daughters succeed.
While accompanying his older daughter to film sets where she was acting, Carmona-Borjas was offered a role as an extra, a seemingly simple opportunity that ignited a deeper curiosity in him. With no prior acting experience, he accepted the role and soon found himself working regularly in background roles, accumulating over 150 appearances in major Hollywood productions. These experiences provided him with firsthand insights from some of Hollywood's finest directors, shaping his understanding of filmmaking. Notably, during his time on the set of J. Edgar, directed by Clint Eastwood, Robert observed Eastwood's unique approach, where the director never uttered "Action," requiring actors and extras to be so in tune with the scene that they instinctively knew when to perform. This extraordinary experience contributed significantly to Robert's development as a director and producer.
Robert's passion extended beyond acting as he became increasingly interested in the work of directors and cinematographers. This fascination led him to study cinematography at Santa Monica College, where he further developed his creative talents. An accomplished writer, Robert went on to create "Secretos de Adolescentes", a television series pilot inspired by the real-life experiences of his daughters and their friends as they pursued their dreams in Los Angeles.
Robert Carmona-Borjas' journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication, adaptability, and creative vision, solidifying his place in the entertainment industry as both a devoted father and an emerging filmmaker.
