Emily Tyra

Emily is a theater, film and television actress, singer and dancer. After beginning her career as a dancer with Boston Ballet, she spent several years performing on Broadway in the original casts of 'Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway', 'Chaplin the Musical' and 'Nice Work If You Can Get It'. She went on to play Mia Bialy in the Golden Globe nominated television series, 'Flesh and Bone'. The eight part mini-series premiered on STARZ in November 2015.
Emily joined the ensemble cast of CBS medical drama, Code Black for their 2nd and 3rd seasons. She starred as Sasha in 2019 indie horror-comedy Harpoon deeped a "sharp and stylish thriller" by the New York Times and "sharply packaged and gamely acted by three able young thesps" by Variety.
Emily's theater credits also include Cassie in A Chorus Line at Signature Theatre, Yvonne in Sunday in the Park with George at Pasadena Playhouse and Cinderella in the Guthrie Theatre's 2023 production of Into the Woods. The Star Tribune reviewed the production as fantastic and wrote "Emily Tyra soars as Cinderella, finding the heart and nuances of her modern princess and bringing down the house with her heartfelt rendition of 'On the Steps of the Palace.'"
Emily resides in Los Angeles and when not performing, enjoys making one of a kind ceramic art under the moniker RareBird.
