I’ll be the first to admit that until getting swept up in the world of 9-1-1, it had been years since I’d properly seen the inside of a TV show fandom.

As a result, there was a lot I’d missed about how it looks when fans are as deeply committed to a series as the people who love this “silly firefighter show,” as it’s affectionately called.

From ‘ships to social media wars, fanfictions to fanart, and everything in between, 9-1-1 is treated almost like a religion to loyal fans, and they’ve managed to turn the show into something entirely their own.

Episode 8, titled “Wannabes,” followed as Eddie (Ryan Guzman) continued to struggle with being separated from his son Christopher (Gavin McHugh), who left Los Angeles at the end of Season 7 to live with his grandparents in El Paso. On the Thursday, November 7th episode of 9-1-1, Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman) goes to confession. It’s been 23 years since his previous visit. The priest asked him to just give him “the highlights.” Eddie confessed about his relationship with his son Christopher and how he’s failed to protect him.

The priest accepted his confession and told him to pray five “Our Fathers” and a decade of the Rosary. Eddie was shocked by his penance. Then, he said that he didn’t deserve forgiveness before rushing out of the confessional.

Later in the episode, Eddie goes to a juice bar. He runs into the priest, who recognizes his voice.

That’s the sound of the police! No, but really, Ryan Murphy’s first responder drama “9-1-1” is pulling back into Station 118 for Season 8.

The series explores the “high-pressure experiences of first responders — including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers — who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping conditions,” according to ABC’s description of the series.

In the midst of that, “the emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from the real lives of first responders who regularly face situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time.”

This next season, the second to air on ABC after the series was dropped by Fox, will kick off with the team fighting off a dangerous swarm of bees. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch.

In the first teaser trailer for Season 8 of “9-1-1,” 22 million killer bees descend upon Los Angeles, which will keep the crew of the 118 more than busy. The teaser contains the kind of world-of-nature statistic Buck (Oliver Stark) would love: “The average human cannot survive 500 bee stings.” Eep!

While we don’t have a lot more details about how this ’70s-movie-style disaster will play out, we know these brave firefighters and paramedics are up for it. After all, they’ve already dealt with rampaging alpacas, stalker crows and that one time a guy was attacked by a shark… in the middle of a freeway.

As you’ll recall, the opening episodes of Season 7 paid homage to “The Poseidon Adventure” by upending Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena (Angela Bassett)’s honeymoon cruise with a tidal wave as well as terrorists.

Tommy Kinard returned to 9-1-1 in a way many may not have expected.

The firefighter, last seen during 9-1-1 Season 2 Episode 16, was part of a much different 118 than we're used to. And he moved on from the firehouse right before it truly became the close-knit, found family that's captured the hearts of so many.

A couple of months ago, 9-1-1 co-creator and showrunner Tim Minear reached out to actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. — who had guest-starred in three flashback episodes of the second season — about reprising his role as firefighter Tommy Kinard in the seventh season of the hit Fox-turned-abc first-responder drama.

ABC’s series 9-1-1 marked a special moment in its 100th episode premiere. Australian actor Oliver Stark, 32, who plays firefighter Evan Buckley, shared an onscreen kiss with Lou Ferrigno Jr.‘s character, Tommy Kinard.

Stark has been a part of the show’s main cast since its premiere in 2018. Stark’s character has had numerous onscreen romances, but this is the first time his character was seen with a man.

9-1-1’s highly anticipated crossover with The Bachelor ended surprisingly when Buck (Oliver Stark) locked lips with Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.).

In the aftermath, plenty of fans have taken to social media to air their thoughts on the development, and now, Stark is speaking out about the response.

The actor, who has been with the show since its series premiere, said he’s “humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reaction to Buck’s storyline” in a new Instagram story.

The 32-year-old said he’d been reading fan messages and “couldn’t be prouder.”

Stark then addressed members of the “smaller group of people” commenting on his posts that the romantic twist has “ruined the show.”

“I would like you to know that I truly don’t care,” he affirmed before stating that the series has always been “about love and inclusion.”

Lou Ferrigno Jr. gave fans a pleasant surprise thanks to his shocking return in Season 7 of ABC's 911.

Ferrigno Jr. first joined the 911 family way back in Season 2 flashback sequences, portraying a former firefighter named Tommy Kinard who was a first responder at Station 118 before the current team came together.

He later moved on to work for the air support division of the Los Angeles Fire Department (Lafd), giving support to Kenneth Choi's Chimney in flashback scenes with a water drop as a neighborhood went up in flames.
