Sophie Webb is an Australian-born film, video, and audio creator, now based in Los Angeles. She began her career as an actor performing in professional Australian theater, film, and television before shifting her focus to working behind the camera. Most recently she produced the pilot 'Halfrican Amercian', which premiered at the 2024 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival and went on to win the Special Jury Award in the Independent TV Pilot Competition. Her original pilot, 'Same Sex', was selected for the 2017 Gotham Labs in Brooklyn, New York. She co-wrote the feature screenplay 'Jungle', a finalist in the Slamdance Screenwriting Contest, and her horror short 'Ingénue' won a slew of awards on the 2021 festival circuit. She completed a directing attachment on the CBS All Access series 'No Activity', shadowing director Trent O'Donnell. Sophie is a passionate supporter of diversity and gender equality in the entertainment industry. She works with Bold Ink and the Arts for Healing and Justice Network, teaching creative writing and storytelling workshops to incarcerated teens in Los Angeles detention centers.
