Julia Carias-Linares is a founding partner and CEO of Freedom Studios, Inc. She is a TV & film producer, actress, interior designer, and businesswoman. Carias-Linares' expertise is in sourcing projects, developing talent, and securing intellectual properties. As a television executive, she has worked for three of A+E Television Networks' brands - Lifetime, A&E, and fyi,. She was part of the development & programming core team that successfully re-branded the Biography channel to fyi, into the #1 upscale entertainment network on ad-supported cable in 2015. She produced some of the top-rated series for the network including Married Life (2017 Primetime Emmy Consideration), Married At First Sight (2015 Critics Choice Awards Nominee), Seven Year Switch, Tiny House Nation S1 & many more.
Carias-Linares is a founding member of Freedom Global Network in 2022, a company dedicated to building and developing next-generation media and communications technologies in Latin America.
She executive produced the OMNI Cultural TV Fest in 2019, 2020, and 2022 a partnership with NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives), an event for independent creators to showcase their ideas to TV Networks, Streamers, & Over-The-Top (OTT) distributors. On April 6th, 2022, Carias-Linares was recognized by the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garetti, for her exemplary leadership and commitment to connecting and celebrating the multicultural creative community. In 2019, she executive produced and starred in the short film, Perception, a story about immigration from two points of view. The film was a festival favorite receiving 14 awards including 2 for "Best Lead Actress" in a drama and over 20 nominations. In 2020, Perception received a distribution deal from Amazon Prime and PiccenPlay.com. In 2017, Carias-Linares, executive produced 13 episodes of Kiki Mobile, a reality, mobile entertainment news-magazine series, that aired on A+E Networks' lifestyle channel, fyi,.
As a fearless entrepreneur, Carias-Linares has created opportunities for herself and officially launched JCL Staging & Design, LLC. This brand started serving top-producing brokerages in the luxury residential real estate market and in 2020 pivoted into renovations. JCL has designed for giant brands like Compass, Douglas Elliman, Luxian International Realty, A+E Television Networks, History Channel, Discovery, and TLC channel. Her designs have helped sell over $30M in residential real estate and were instrumental in helping a TV concept to be approved into the pilot, Filth Fighter which premiered on TLC and Discovery+ on June 9th, 2021.
JCL Staging & Design has been featured in the NYTimes, History Channel, Discovery, TLC, Apartment Therapy, Dormify, PIX11 News, and HeyBeauti Magazine. She and her husband, Alfredo Linares are the subjects of a new renovation series called "Fix Mi Casa" currently in production. Their work has been recognized for its ingenuity, sophistication, and creativity. She believes that good design goes beyond aesthetics and has the power to influence action through simplicity, functionality, and sophistication.
She donates countless hours to many community-driven causes. She is a supporter of Niños y Niñas de Cristo Orphanages in La Romana, Dominican Republic. For over 18 years, she passionately fundraised for scholarships empowering young Latinas transitioning into higher education during her tenure with the 100 Hispanic Women, Westchester Chapter, where she served as Vice President on the Executive Board from 2017 to 2022. She has also championed various foundations, including the YWCA in Yonkers, The Cristian Rivera Foundation, and numerous others. She was recognized for her community service by the Westchester County Board of Legislators with a Proclamation on April 12th, 2019.
She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mount Saint Vincent and studied acting at the renowned American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. She is an "Executive Peer Group" member for the Television Academy - The Emmy.
She is married to Alfredo Linares and lives in New York.
