These fake comedic Pitch Meeting videos from Ryan George are great! I recently discovered them and get a kick out of watch them because they’re so damn entertaining and hilariously on point with the films that poke fun at.
One of the latest videos takes on X-Men: Dark Phoenix and gives us a funny portrayal of how you’d think a pitch meeting for that film went down. The movie was a big disappointment, but for the most part fans weren’t really expecting much from it anyway.
The X-Men franchise has been running for nearly two decades, and it all culminates with Dark Phoenix, a storyline that the movies already covered in 2006. Once again, Jean Grey goes absolutely bonkers with power, but this time Wolverine isn’t around to stab her. The movie has a pretty awful score on Rotten Tomatoes and definitely raises a lot of questions.

A Canadian theater could be in a world of trouble for a while. Or, at least until the children it just traumatized become legal adults.
Apparently, workers at a Montreal cinema made a major blooper (pun totally intended) on Thursday when reels for Detective Pikachu and The Curse of La Llorona were mistakenly swapped. What ensued was a mixture of hilarious, horrendous and I’m not sure what else. The entire thing was captured on Twitter as well, by Screen Rant’s Ryan George.
Dozens of children were sitting in the theater waiting to watch the newest Pokémon movie when the horror began. And by that, I mean horror movie trailers. If this didn’t give parents their first clue that something was about to go terribly wrong, then perhaps they should’ve been following George’s Twitter feed.

If ever you find yourself in a movie theater to see a family-friendly film and are greeted by trailers for R-rated horror movies, turn back — something may have gone terribly wrong. Moviegoers in Montreal hoping to see “Detective Pikachu” learned that the hard way on Thursday night when a mistake led to “The Curse of La Llorona” being played instead, which naturally caused terror — and tears — among the children present.
Ryan George of Screen Rant was in attendance for the ill-fated screening, noticing that something had gone wrong long before the kiddos did: “The theatre I’m in is playing a trailer for Annabelle Comes Home before Detective Pikachu Look Away Children Oh No,” he tweeted. “Andddd kids are crying. Now the Joker trailer is playing.”
The ordeal didn’t end there, of course, as a preview for “Child’s Play” was next: “Now It’S Chucky Oh No Children Oh No.

With great power comes great responsibility, and the titular lead of the upcoming Captain Marvel is about as powerful as McU superheroes get. On the responsibility front, however, Carol Danvers could maybe use a little more work, unless you think that the height of nobility is punching sweet old ladies in the face.
To be fair, if there’s anyone who would have good reason for assaulting the elderly, it’s Carol, who’s known to be wrapped up in a conflict against the Skrulls – shape-shifting beings who are capable of taking the most innocent and human of forms. This deceptive ability has already prompted many a fan theory about who in the Marvel universe could actually be one of these green-skinned creatures in disguise. But if you’re unaware of Captain Marvel’s history with this invasive race, then the moment in the new trailer where she socks a...

Storied comedy festival Just For Laughs has announced the finalists for its Stand Up & Pitch program -- a seven-year-old competition that seeks to discover new comedic talent.
After putting out the call for submissions earlier this year in a total of three content categories, the festival has revealed the five finalists in its ‘Beyond The Box: Playing It Short’ category, co-presented by Tubefilter. This category seeks to recognize digital-first shows with episodes lasting no longer than 15 minutes. Of the submissions, finalists were selected by a panel of luminary execs from Above Average, Funny Or Die, New Form, YouTube, and more.
This year's short-form finalists include: Brittany Tomkin and Jorja Hudson’s Myrtle & Willoughby, which is about two female detectives in Brooklyn’s ‘Millennial Crimes Unit’; Louie Torrellas and Ernie Bustamante’s New Lou, following a former child actor who must learn how to act like an adult; Luke Jarvis and...
