Alex Worrall is the former head of development for Granada New York, where he created and directed the hit MTV US dating show Room Raiders. He then became the head of development for MTV UK & International.
He has over 25 years of practical production experience and has devised and helped launch some of the US and UK's most well-known shows including Room Raiders for MTV (U.S.), Made in Chelsea for E4 and The Only Way Is Essex for ITV2.
After dabbling in stand-up comedy and performing at the Edinburgh Festival, Worrall turned to writing full-time. He has written in multiple genres for major media brands, including the BBC, Channel 4, E4, BBC Radio 4, The Daily Mash, The European Music Awards and The Guardian. His film script Here Boy won prize funding from Creative England and went on to win the first prize in the 2016 PromaxBDA UK Short Film Festival.
Most recently, Alex specialises in script and storylining across drama, comedy and structured reality genres. He has won script commissions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Dave and also worked as a sketch and gag writer for radio and TV - most notably BBC2's The Mash Report and Channel 4's 10 O'Clock Live.
