Pachinko, Apple TV+’s ambitious series adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s novel about a Korean family’s fight for survival during and after the Japanese occupation of Korea, has never used episode titles. But if creator and showrunner Soo Hugh had to assign a title to the latest chapter of her breathtaking multigenerational saga, she would call it “The Boogeyman.”

Written by Hugh, Christina Yoon and Melissa Park, the second hour of Pachinko’s sophomore season reintroduces Isak (Steve Sanghyun Noh), the pastor husband of protagonist Sunja (Minha Kim), who, in the season one finale, was arrested in 1938 for trying to fight for labor unions — an effort seen as an affront against the Japanese emperor. Seven years later, Hansu (Lee Minho), Sunja’s wealthy first love who abandoned her while she was pregnant with their child, is able to negotiate the safe passage of a Japanese official’s family...

“Pachinko” has always asked a lot of its audience, but Season 2 asks even more. Right from the start, there’s a leap so massive, many shows would’ve never considered requesting it to begin with: I’m writing, of course, of the new opening title sequence. In general, such a switch isn’t unheard of. “The Leftovers” did it — twice (kind of) — and those went over swimmingly. But Damon Lindelof decided to try out a new intro because the first was far from revered (and its arduous droning would’ve set the wrong tone for a playfully bizarre sophomore season). “Pachinko’s” original credits, meanwhile, are beloved! They’re awesome! They’re so gosh darn delightful they overcame the TV Academy’s indefensible neglect in every other category and earned “Pachinko” its only Emmy nomination (for Original Main Title Design)!

Yes Studios has unveiled the first international clip from the Korean adaptation of its hit global scripted format “Your Honor,” which launches this week.

The first two episodes of the 10-part series just dropped on the KT Genie TV platform and will next roll out on the Korean network Ena later on Monday.

Apple TV+'s newest series, "Pachinko," takes place over 70 years in Japan, Korea, and America. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name, the first season of "Pachinko" follows the life of one family and the woman at the center keeping it all together: Sunja.

Viewers see Sunja at three different stages in her life: as a child, a teenager, and an elderly woman. Oscar-winner Yuh-jung Youn plays the eldest Sunja, while newcomer Minha Kim was tasked with portraying teenage Sunja, whose brush with romance sets her on an unpredictable course. The words and characters of Min Jin Lee’s multigenerational novel Pachinko have come to life in the first look images for Apple TV+’s upcoming drama of the same name.
