E! aired the final episode of Nightly Pop after the cable network announced a major shakeup to their programming. The pop culture talk show hosted by Morgan Stewart, Hunter March and Nina Parker came to an end with a toast to their run on the air and a smooch between March and Parker.

On social media, each of the hosts shared heartfelt messages to their fans showing their gratitude for all the years of support.

“To everyone who made @e_nightlypop what it was… from the crew that shot it, to the glam and wardrobe that made us look fabulous, to the producers, staff and editors that made it all happen, to my beautiful co-hosts that have made these past 5 years so amazing, and to you, the audience that slid into bed with us each night… I love you and I thank you see you on the next one,” March shared on Instagram.

Hunter March is reacting to the news that his E! show Nightly Pop has been canceled by the cable network after four years. The television host found out that the late-night show was ending after undergoing spine surgery.

“This surgery was really tough,” March said on Instagram Stories setting up his joke right out of surgery. “One thing that kept me going was the idea that I’m getting better so that I can get back to my job and make people laugh on Nightly Pop ’cause that really means the world to me.”

In a second story, March delivered the punchline flawlessly adding, “Nevermind, just found out Nightly Pop was canceled.”

“The funniest part about Nightly Pop being canceled joke is that it was not a joke. Those are the best jokes — when they are real and announced during your surgery,” he added.

E! is canceling two of its daily entertainment-news shows.

The daytime show Daily Pop will end its five-year run in September, and companion Nightly Pop will go dark in October. The NBCUniversal-owned cable outlet also plans to launch a new evening news show in October that will “return to the roots of the E! News brand as the gold standard of entertainment news coverage,” according to a memo from Tracie Wilson, executive vp syndication studios at NBCUniversal, to E! staff on Friday (read it in full below).

“I know change can be challenging, but I am truly excited about the future of these brands that we are going to build together,” Wilson wrote.

The cancellation of the two shows is part of a larger restructuring at E!, which includes the creation of Terrace Studios to share some functions — including stage and production...

Details of the talk shows’ end as well as the new leadership team were announced to staff in a memo from Tracie Wilson, who serves as NBCUniversal’s executive vice president of syndication studios, on Friday morning.

In it, Wilson shared that as Tammy Filler continues her role as executive vice president and editor-in-chief of E! News, she will have three direct reports including Jen Lavin leading creative, Jamie Blynn leading online editorial and someone who will be hired to lead digital strategy.

Additionally, on the production side, Ed Zarcoff will lead E!’s production group as senior vice president of news operations, reporting to Wilson and collaborating with Vinnie Fusco and Kristin Killackey, who continue lead first-run production operations.

Deadline understands that the cable network is restructuring, canceling shows such as Daily Pop and Nightly Pop, leading to the departure of production staff of those shows.

The news is being communicated to staff Friday morning by Tracie Wilson, EVP Of Syndication Studios and E! News at NBCUniversal, who reports to NBCU’s Susan Rovner, at a town hall.

“I know change can be challenging, but I am truly excited about the future of these brands that we are going to build together,” said Wilson in a note to staff (read it in full below).

Naya Rivera will be appearing as a judge on Netflix’s dessert-making competition show “Sugar Rush” on Friday, in an episode filmed earlier this year before she died at age 33 while swimming in a lake in Southern California.

The Season 3 episode will feature Rivera as a guest judge with Hunter March, Candace Nelson and Adriano Zumbo, and it will be dedicated to the late actress and what is believed to be her final TV appearance.

Deadline was the first to report the news, and details of the episode were also confirmed by People.

Rivera died on July 8 on a boating trip with her 4-year-old son on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. She was in the water swimming with her son when she drowned, and young Josey was found alone on the boat. Searchers found Rivera’s body five days later.

Naya Rivera will appear as a guest judge during Season 3 of Netflix’s Sugar Rush baking competition, which premieres this Friday, July 31.

Rivera taped her appearance back in February in Los Angeles, our sister site Deadline reports, just weeks before the coronavirus pandemic swiftly but surely shut down all TV, film and stage productions.

Exclusive: In what is believed to be her final TV appearance, Naya Rivera will be featured in an episode from Season 3 of Netflix’s baking competition reality series Sugar Rush, which will be released Friday.

Back in February, a few weeks before all production ground to a halt, the Glee alumna filmed a guest-judge appearance on Sugar Rush in Los Angeles, sitting alongside the show’s host Hunter March and professional chef judges Candace Nelson and Adriano Zumbo. It was the last thing Rivera shot before the coronavirus-related Hollywood production shutdown, now in its fifth month.

Netflix on June 24 announced a July 31 premiere date for the new season of Sugar Rush, branded Extra Sweet. A couple of weeks later, Rivera disappeared while swimming with her son in Lake Piru north of Los Angeles. Her body was recovered July 13 and laid to rest July 24. She was 33.

The Christina Grimmie Foundation announced today the honorees for its September 26, 2019 third annual Gala fundraiser at the Burbank Marriott.

The evening will honor two-time Primetime Emmy-winning voiceover artist Maurice Lamarche (“Pinky and the Brain” and “Animaniacs”), award-winning author and advocate Travis Flores and the Ventura County Community Foundation. Lamarche will be on-hand to accept the Trailblazer Award for his invaluable assistance in helping launch the Foundation. Flores will receive the Inspiration Award for his unwavering dedication to the Foundation despite severe obstacles. Ventura County Community Foundation will receive the Legacy Award for their diligent and honorable handling of the Thousand Oaks Borderline donations. Returning for his third year as host will be co-host of E!’s hit show “Nightly Pop!”, Hunter March. Tickets may be purchased here.

TBS’ Search Party has located NCIS: New Orleans alumna Shalita Grant: The actress will recur during Season 3 of the dark comedy, our sister site Deadline reports.

In the series about a group of self-absorbed twenty-somethings covering up a murder, Grant will play Cassidy, a superficial law school grad. The lawyer takes on Dory (Alia Shawkat) as a client pro-bono in the hopes of accelerating her career, but soon finds herself in way over her head.

Today the network announced that a new topical pop culture show, named Nightly Pop, will be launching on Monday, Oct. 29 at 10:30 p.m. And, thanks to the teaser above, it seems the show will deliver candid and quick-witted takes on the biggest stories in entertainment news. This biting commentary will be led by Daily Pop co-host Morgan Stewart, E! correspondent Nina Parker and social influencer Hunter March. In fact, we're already Lol-ing over the Nightly Pop trio's commentary over Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger's "basic" relationship. The Christina Grimmie Foundation announced today the September 25th date for its second annual Gala fundraiser at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood.

The evening will honor the Ventura County District Attorney’s Ellie Liston Crime Victims’ Assistance Program with its Inspiration Award. The Ventura County team has become an integral partner of the Christina Grimmie Foundation. A second award, the Trailblazer Award, will be given to Kurt Hugo Schneider and Michael Schneider for helping launch the Foundation and being such ardent supporters. The evening will be hosted by TV personality and AwesomenessTV producer Hunter March. Tickets may be purchased here.

Netflix is expanding its unscripted slate, with the streaming giant ordering three new unscripted shows.

The first of the new shows is titled “The Fix,” described as the first comedy show in the world with the stated ambition to solve the world’s biggest problems through comedy. In each episode, host Jimmy Carr along with permanent team captains Katherine Ryan and D.L. Hughley host guest comics and experts in taking one massive issue facing the world and attempting to solve it.

The series is produced by Embassy Row and will be executive produced by Michael Davies and Andrew Westwell. Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season.

The next series is called “Westside.” It follows a group of ambitious and talented young musicians spanning multiple genres, coming together to create an original performance series at a Los Angeles nightclub. It follows the artists in their lives as they pursue their dreams...

The 10-episode “The Fix” has Jimmy Carr (pictured above) and permanent team captains Katherine Ryan and D.L. Hughley hosting guest comedians and experts to tackle one massive issue facing the world and attempting to solve it. Produced by Embassy Row, the series is executive produced by Michael Davies and Andrew Westwell, and is described as “the first comedy show in the world with the stated ambition to solve the world’s biggest problems.”

“Westside” will follow a group of young musicians who collaborate to create an original performance series at a Los Angeles night club. Produced by Love Productions and Madwood Studios and directed by James Carroll, the eight episodes will weave gritty and cinematic docu-series scenes with music videos and original songs. Kevin Bartel, Richard McKerrow, Michael Flutie, Sun DeGraff, Lara Spotts serve as executive producers.
