Maureen is an award-winning film and television editor who brings a background in visual art, film production, and an MA in Media Studies to her work. She found editing through a love of experimental film and the sculptural process of working with image and sound.
She has continued to hone her skills as a storyteller through residencies at the Canadian Film Centre and the Berlinale Talents Lab, and has built longstanding collaborations with numerous directors.
She is a five-time nominee of the Canadian Cinema Editors Awards, and a 2022 Directors Guild of Canada Editors Awards winner for Best Editing - Movies for Television and Mini-Series.
Her work has screened internationally to acclaim. PYEWACKET premiered at TIFF 2017 and ranked amongst the year's top horror films internationally.
Director Mary Galloway's groundbreaking APTN/Revry series QUERENCIA won the Audience Choice Award at the image+nation LGBTQueer Film Festival, and was nominated for the Canadian Screen Awards Best Web Series - Fiction, and was shortlisted for the CSA's Audience Choice Award.
Three short films - IT'S NOTHING, CONSTELLATIONS, and YOUR MOTHER AND I, edited with Director Anna Maguire, were inducted into the British Film Institute's archive.
THIS PLACE, Director V.T. Nayani's feature starring Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs and Priya Guns, premiered to acclaim at TIFF 2022.
Forthcoming work includes Molly McGlynn's feature BLOODY HELL, which stars Maddie Ziegler, Djouliet Amara, Emily Hampshire, and D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai.
She is currently working on season two of the CBC comedy RUN THE BURBS.
Maureen actively contributes to the film community, mentoring youth film programs including the Inside Out Short Film Lab. She was the Events Chair of the Canadian Cinema Editors from 2018-2021, programming their events series and three editions of their annual conference EditCon.
