It was when his father bought him a Nikon camera at his age of
14 and shared his hobby of taking pictures that he determined his
future career. What really fascinated him at the time was the fact that
he could find, through the lens of his camera, ways to create visual
stories with a variety of imageries that would otherwise have instantly
emerged and disappeared in his mind. He in his youth loved and enjoyed
taking photographs and sharing them with people. When he moved to
Australia at the age of 16, he explored its beautiful nature and
expanded his interests in photography further. He later moved to the
U.S. to continue his academic pursuit. He earned four college degrees:
two BA degrees and two MFA degrees. His studies covered a wide range of
subjects from photography and experimental film to narrative film and
cinematography. As soon as finishing his film school in Hollywood, he
started working in film industry. As cinematography coordinator and
camera operator, he had privilege to work with an acclaimed Korean
director Chan-wook Park's film, "Stoker," which starred Nicole Kidman.
He recently worked on Fall Out Boy's music video, "Young Volcanoes," as
camera operator.
