Anyone But Me superfans can now sink their teeth into a new batch of clips. The cult favorite web series has added several Lost Scenes to its run, and they are available on Hulu.
The Lost Scenes, which Anyone But Me creators Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward revealed to us back in July, fill in gaps among the show’s 26 episodes. As Miller previously explained, The Lost Scenes serve as a game of sorts for fans. “When we air, at the end of each new one we’ll put up a link to a particular episode for the fans to watch and see for themselves if they agree with where we thought a scene might belong,” she said. “Meanwhile, we hope they’ll watch every season so they can enjoy playing detective when the new scenes launch.”

Anyone But Me, which gained a cult following across three web seasons, remains popular with its fans despite airing its final episode more than three years ago. In order to thank those fans for their loyalty, series creators Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward have planned a little gift: They will share ten additional scenes, which they will release one at a time under the title Anyone But Me: The Lost Scenes.
The Lost Scenes will be designed to fit into Anyone But Me’s story arc, which follows the lives of a pair of young, lesbian protagonists. The series’ two primary actresses, Rachael Hip-Flores and Nicole Pacent, will both reprise their roles for The Lost Scenes. As Miller explained in an e-mail to Tubefilter, the goal is to create new material that can relate to previous episodes without depending entirely on them:

Good morning and Happy Spirit Day!
Everyone everywhere is wearing purple in the name of Lgbt pride and acceptance. So if you see someone on the street today wearing a shade of violet, I advocate going up and giving them a hug. Here's Sara Gilbert over at The Talk on why she'll be wearing a purple tie today on the show.
For the record, I'm wearing purple pants today.
In the web series Squaresville's season finale, Zelda comes out to her friend Esther and things get weird.

Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward launched Anyone But Me in 2008 under the umbrella of Strike.TV, the new media distribution company conceived in the Writers Guild of America picket lines. Since then, Strike.TV has found a new partner in MetaCafe and Miller and Ward’s original web series about the experiences of Vivian McMillan (played by Rachael Hip-Flores) - a postpubescent girl who likes girls living in a post-9/11 New York State and City world - has thrived. In three years, the show has uploaded 25 installments across three seasons (the last of which was partially supported by fans), which all together across all the show's distribution outlets have accumulated nearly 11 milion views. Not bad for an independent web drama! Now that Anyone But Me crossed is now a member of the eight figure viewcount club, I thought it might be a good time to dive a little deeper...

Speaking of nerd culture, Jeff Koenig and the crew at Omf Geek recently put the call out for contestants for their “upcoming reality game show” Geek Vs. Geek. The program poses the question, “Are you geek enough?” and then seeks out answers through a series of head to head competitions hosted by Anyone But Me’s Rachael Hip-Flores and shot by The Hayley Project’s Andy Park. Participants debate age-old topics like Han Solo or Indiana Jones, Metachlorine counts versus angels incarnate, and Frodo or Willow. Judging from the trailer, it looks a player vs. player version of Beat the Geeks for the online generation. Geek vs. Geek is slated to start shooting in November, but not before announcing its final eight contestants during New York Comic Con on October 16. If you think you’ve lived in your parent’s basement long enough, been ridiculed in school for a sufficient amount of time,...

On episode 2.58 of We Love Soaps TV from the Love Out Loud VI fundraiser at Prohibition in New York City, Billy Warlock discusses his role in "The Normal Heart," the possibility of writing an autobiography someday, and shares his honest opinions on what daytime soaps could have done to save themselves.
We Love Soaps TV: What do you think needs to happen for the last four shows to remain viable and stay on the air? What, if anything, can they do from your perspective?
Billy Warlock: Nothing. And it's not their fault. Honestly, it could have been saved 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 years ago. It's all about money baby. Listen, it's simple. When you see shows getting rid of their mainstays to bring in $1,000 a day actors, that's your first sign of trouble. Tell stories with your core people. Get rid of everybody else. You want the four shows to remain? Get rid...

It’s a big week in the Big Apple for the web series world. At least two New York City-based independent productions debuted their sophomore or junior seasons in the past two days. Here’s a look at the premieres and what fans can expect from the next chapters in a teenage “coming of age story in a post 9/11 world” and a “dramedy about the extremes people go to when faced with an economic crash.” Anyone But Me returned for its third season by way of an exclusive online premiere on Monday, thanks to a more than successful web-a-thon and a helluva lot of fans with cash to give and a wishes for creators Susan Miller and Tina Cesa Ward to continue the storyline. Rachael Hip-Flores (aka Vivian) and Nicole Pacent (aka Ester) womanned live chats on both coasts before and after the episode debuted, interacting and answering questions with...

Rachael Hip-Flores has perhaps the coolest name in web series. Try it, it’s fun to say. The star of indie drama Anyone But Me has won over critics and those of us that write about these things. She even won a Streamy Award last year as Vivian for Best Female Actor in a Drama. That wasn’t the only award for the New York-based web series which even scored a Writer’s Guild award last month that left co-cretor Susan Miller virtually speechless with joy when our own Josh Cohen caught up with her after the Abm win. “Oh boy oh boy oh girl oh girl oh girl!!! We made something happen without waiting for anyone else to say yes or no to it – and it has turned out to be one of the most important and fulfilling things in my life,” said Miller. “Anyone But Me has a lot of friends,...

Follow Monday night's inspirational 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards ceremony, the casts and crew of numerous web series mingled at The Ailey Studios before moving on to the after party. What was so fulfilling about putting on this event was seeing the networking happening before and after the show. You will see in many of the photos below actors from different indie soaps posed together, exchanged business cards and offered their support. "Is there anything I can do to help your show?" was a phrase heard multiple times. There were also a number of crossovers being plotted so stay tuned.

When presenting the Supporting Actress award, Anacostia's Anthony Anderson threatened to pass out if Kim Zimmer won.

"Anyone But Me" co-creator Susan Miller on the challenges of creating a drama in a Web comedy world and striking a chord with viewers.
Susan Miller, co-creator of hit drama Anyone But Me, is a Hollywood vet, having worked on shows including The L Word and Thirtysomething. But working in online TV has been a whole new education, complete with new challenges and new opportunities. We talked to her about it.
Fast Company: Anyone But Me has received a lot of praise for being a show about actual teens. How did you approach creating these characters?
Susan Miller: In New York, after 9/11, young people became part of a much larger picture. We wanted to show their connection to the larger world, but through their personal stories. New York is the most vital, difficult, and marvelous place to live, and we very much wanted to have diverse characters to really...

On a windy, overcast Sunday afternoon the 2010 Streamy Awards took over the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Even though the FearNet webseries “Fear Clinic,” directed by Robert Hall and starring genre favorites Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, and Lisa Wilcox, stood alone to represent our favorite genre, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a gaggle of horror-related goodies to indulge in while working the red carpet event before the show.
Before the Streamy Awards were under way, Dread Central’s red carpet team of Heather Wixson and Brian Smith had the opportunity to catch up with some new faces in horror as well as some of the genre’s most beloved personalities.
Since we never want to deprive our readers of any sort of awesomeness, Dread Central has cooked up two videos from the Streamy Awards red carpet event. The first video is chock-full of interviews.

In our first annual Top 50 Lesbian and Bi Characters poll, we asked you to vote for your favorite characters from film, television, and internet shows.
You cast your votes, and now we have the results. Before we reveal the winners, let's take a look at some of the trends that emerged.
Almost all of the characters were from films and television shows that made their debut after the year 2000. A few of the exceptions include Kerry Weaver from ER, and the ass-kicking ladies from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
While most of the characters were from Us productions, a fair amount came from international shows, including our top two characters (from the UK show Skins).
Also notable was the fact that some of your favorite characters, the leads from Xena: Warrior Princess (which ran from 1995-2001) and Idgie Threadgood from the film Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), were never officially presented as lesbian or bisexual.

The nominees for the 2010 Streamys were announced today. The Streamys celebrate online television programming and this year they have a fantastic line up of nominees. Last year was the Streamys debut year and the winners included high profile shows such as Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the exceptional Battlestar Galactica web series The Face of the Enemy.
This year there is even more competition with some really interesting content now being released on the web rather than through more traditional media routes. Two of my favourites from this year’s nominee list are the excellent Interview Project which is presented by davidlynch.com and the slightly flawed but thoroughly enjoyable Angel of Death, created by Ed Brubaker and starring Zoe Bell, which also received a DVD release last year.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 11th 2010 and the full list of nominees is listed below with handy links...

Academy voters had their hands full this year in pairing down some 2,000 web shows submitted from fans in over 100 different countries. It's official: Six more weeks of winter! Thanks a lot, Phil.
If you are big into fashion or watch The Hills, you might already be familiar with Kelly Cutrone. The infamously sassy woman in charge of People's Revolution, a fashion PR company, now has her own Bravo reality show, Kell on Earth, and has been addressing the lesbian rumors that surround her. She told The Advocate:
I thought I was a lesbian at one point after my divorce from [Warhol protégé] Ronnie Cutrone, who I married at 21. Everybody told me that if I did all these things, I was going to live happily ever after, so getting divorced at the age of 25 is pretty heavy if you’re in love and you believe in that whole system the way that I did. I was like, I think women are really beautiful and everybody thinks I’m gay, so I must be a lesbian.
